Isn't "flu like symptoms" the way they are describing it these days, presumably to prevent triggering the facebook certified medical experts?

he could have anything from a 24 hour sniffle to covid

we just don't know

will be a nervous wait

Not to raise the alarm but I’ve just come out the other side of the flu, 1 week properly bed ridden and then 2 weeks well below par to follow.

I’m not old (37) nor am I an elite athlete but I’m fitter than most. This is the sickest I’ve ever been

Hope Clarry is ok

I’ve had the flu twice over the years it’s horrible. First time I was literally imagining things with a temp in the 40’s. Second time bed ridden for 10 days.

McDonald

alright i may have been triggered. i ain’t no doctor but i work for a company that makes a influenza vaccine.

experiencing an influenza infection means you are out of action for two weeks and likely in bed for 5 days.

people refer to flu as having a cold or more accurately flu like symptoms. We have not been told Clarry has an influenza infection. he has a cold or a random viral infection. let’s see how he pulls up. he’ll be fine. if he is hydrated and energetic on monday he will play

Yeah he'd have to be pretty sick to miss surely. A few days to recover he'll be right!

Don’t mess with overexertimg and flu.   Can have very very serious consequences.

Is this a trick question? The players never toss the coin.

I’ve had some bad doses of man flu as well.

But if Clarry is training as reported (away from the group), it can’t be that bad.

Right? I TOUCHED YELLOW AND BLACK CREPE PAPER!

In desperation after a messy poo wiping ones bottom with crepe paper is de rigueur. I once used a tea bag but that's another story.

I hope Viney didn't give it to him.

It's April 2023 and some people still think that the team will line up as announced on Thursday night.

yes, they never do, but Chandler at half back is just plain hilarious.

As much as I've always liked seeing a team named in position, they may as well just post the selected squad in alphabetical or jumper number order these days.

Shortest to tallest.

Between the lines I am asking as to who will captain the Dees on Monday.

"Tossing the coin" is just an old saying saying meaning who is captain today.

Reverse order please.

I bet Yeates, Yze and Ziebell were always annoyed at school when the teacher marking the roll started at A and said "You can go when I've called your name".

You’d have to say Lever- MFC’s next captain.

After the misery of last weekend I’m willing to accept any winning margin, particularly as I’m taking a Tiger nuff nuff supporter with me!

It's a home game so should have GA access on your membership.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
