Its a long season and I very much doubt TMac and BBB at 30+ will be right to play all 22 games + finals (hopefully)...so we will need Josh at some stage

Yes.  Highly likely one of them will get injured or drop form. Schache has an opportunity to prove he is more than just a depth player as some call him.

If we are being honest he is like Weid but with a bit more versatility and adaptability. Can play fwd or back He can actually take a one grab mark which was Weid's downfall IMO so all in all its a slight upgrade

Yes.  He's an upgrade on Weideman.  I think his best position is half-back.

Having the mongrel is easier said than done....

I think that part is innate, very difficult to develop it

I used to know someone connected with the Bulldogs FD who told me that Schache was the least competitive AFL footballer he had seen. Sounds harsh, hope he's proven wrong at a 3rd club

Yep, but two clubs have already let him go.  That's a bit of red flag for me.

Red and blue flag sounds just right

Watts was ahead of your other failures to compete. He at least had skill to back up what attributes he had.

Not a lot of love for Josh’s debut for the red & the blue.

A return of 3 & 4 goals in his only outings for Casey has me optimistic on a strong showing against the Kangas.

Good luck Josh - 3rd time lucky

The low expectations could surprise a few. I’m glad he doesn’t have his No 2 draft pick over hanging him. I hope he does well.

I hope he kicks a few, he has talent and can play in multiple positions. He played well against Jackson last year and had the better of him in the ruck and when Jackson went forward.

Good luck to the lad. Weids is playing like a man at the bombers so I have hope Shaq will reinvent himself too.

Who would have thought we'd line up without Ben Brown or Tmac in the F50 without injuries being an issue. I'm stoked that the FD are taking a look at the whole squad and aren't scarred to mix things up.

T Mac has been bog ordinary this seaon bar 1 game vs Meth coke magoos! He wont be around next year. BBB was excellent sans his back injury and should go around for another year again. Both Jake Melksham and Hibbo will not be around next year. And by the way I hope Shacky Attacky kicks a bag this week.

Was expecting he would have beefed up his upper body if not by his 2nd club, then his 3rd club. Needs the extra kgs in my opinion. Apparently mfc asked him to also but can't see any  evidance of it at training. His form in vfl late last year and now this year has been exceptional though. Good time to take a look at him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
