Poor bowza lol.

Got smashed last week at Casey and then this on Friday night. Honestly the kid is one tough bastard. Just gets straight back up and goes about his business.

I haven’t read every page of this thread so apologies if this has been mentioned before. Taken from the mongrel punt, an excellent football page. This particular author LOVES Oliver and sees him as we do, despite not being a Dees fan.

In days gone by, if a team attempted to physically beat us up like Brisbane tried the other day we would have folded like cream puffs. Instead we returned the favor (legally) and hammered them back into their hole like whack a mole! Loving it!

Hope somebody gut punches Noah Answerth if we play Brisbane again

What a lowlife sniper!

Just under the radar I thought Rivers is starting to hit some form. Did a number of good things on the night and seemed to play freely. Has had some injury woes this year bit looked more like his 2021 self.

Where is the vision? Do you have a link?

Not sure about any "special" vision, but pull up the broadcast video from CH7 on the AFL website (Match Replay) and go to about 1:40:30 (just before stoppage in Melbourne forward line with 1:07 to play) and you will see ANB already on his knees and Harmes remonstrating with #43 from Brisbane as a trainer runs out to ANB.

At next stoppage with 1:00 to play, you can hear the umpire saying "let it go James" and something like "just let them deal with it" (not really clear, thought initially he might have said "let me deal with it").

Ben Brown is also remonstrating with Brisbane #43 at that moment.

What a gutless thing to do.

Actually thought it was his best game leadership-wise.

Missed the game live due to an important function. Ended up watching the game at 1am. Slept and dog tired most of Saturday and had an early night. I thought a thorough demolition of Brisbane was a pipe dream on their home turf but we did it. We certainly are a side that won’t be intimidated. Looking forward to finals.

Nothing like a big Friday night win to put a pep in your step for the rest of the weekend

Was at a function last night with a number of Carlton supporters. They were fretting over their game today whereas I could relax and enjoy the evening safe in the knowledge our double chance has been secured

But I got to see close ups of Neal Bullen vomiting and Barry’s tennis ball ankle 🙄

That ankle was bad. I think he played on after they taped it. Gutsy effort.

It sure was and winners at last has used the mist appropriate emojii we have....the vomit one.

That should be more than a week. Nibbler us a tough cookie and to be doubled over spewing is not a good look for the afl and 1 week isn't a strong enough statement.

Face or stomach it's still a person your whacking and one could argue a stomach punch that makes you vomit had definite intent to cause severe pain. A malicious dog act into.

Dirty footy overcome; the Dees provided resilience, determination, were focussed and set on a mission - to a man. The Bears had to concede, it stuffed up their game. The mongrel we sought was provided in better footballing terms.  If we play Geelong, they will be next because their footy ain't as good as ours. The Filth, on the other had, will just fold.

Was at the game and have just watched the first half again tonight.

The thing that summed it up for me was Jayden Hunt. With about 12 to go in the second quarter, he wins a contested possession on the half back flank, hands it off and then gut runs past three lions opponents to take a mark in clear space on the opposite forward flank.

Absolutely burnt them off. Incredible running by our team all night.

He screwed the kick up into the F50 but it was super impressive running, he just left them jogging after him.

Our F50 entries were so much better too.

Also, Zorko grabbing Ed in a choke hold and then pulling his hair was pretty low. He should have been cited as well for that.

Great game from Hunty.

The joy on Lever's face when he kicks his first MFC goal.

Priceless.

About 51 sec mark

I have a different view as to why we were outscored in the second half than those presented in the last few pages.

I reckon we were practicing some new tactics to take into the finals.  I would need to watch the game again to see what they might be.

Trying new tactics when well in front was openly discussed by the club when we were heading towards 10-0.

I mentioned in another thread how we on Friday night we had a different approach in our ball movement fwd of centre and i50 hence our improved accuracy.  Very similar to how we played the GF.

Can’t believe I’m so late to this one (family issues) but I’d say that was our win of the season. Against a team I never thought we’d beat. Not only that, we killed them. Never in doubt. I’m so proud of us. Never surrendered the lead all match. Can’t wait to have a well-earned break and enjoy the finals. I have nothing to fear from Brisbane from now on.

go Dees
