Carlton fans are boasting that their team will make a statement tonight by upsetting the reigning premiers to cement their return to finals football.

Thatโ€™s right folks. According to them, weโ€™re chopped liver!

Time to prove that the Demons are still premiership contenders!

ย

Just win boys!

What crowd numbers are we expecting today? 50k or 70k ?ย

Our form has been very good despite losing 2/3. They wonโ€™t get near us if we can go up another level, which is what I expect.ย

No more stuff-ups. please

We usually get up for big games. Think the games against Brisbane after the bye and after the dogs game against Freo.

We play well when weโ€™re under pressure. But from now on it needs to be fullthrottle every game.ย

Low 50โ€™s IMO

The blues usually get home crowds in the 40-50s even against interstate so it seems low especially when you consider the importance of the game for both teams.

One should expect a decent crowd but who knows

Bloos more concerned with getting Cripps off than the playing of the game itself

Last week and Dogs games were pretty big:

Not really, the dogs game was after a win against port and the pies after a really good game against freo, hardly backs to the wall like the other two.

Iโ€™m saying in games where we absolutely needed the wins, we got the job done.

If we aspire the Holy Grail in 2022, we should easily account for Carlton tonight, and I think we will. ย A margin of 7 or 8 goals will give us a handy percentage boost, so just get it done Dees.

Can't remember which season it was, but about 7 so years ago, Carlton won only 4 games for the season. 2 of their wins were against Melbourne, who weren't far off making the finals.

MFCSS has set in, particularly in view of the fiasco regarding Cripps which Carlton will see as a victory.

Demons were short priced favourites v filth (first time round), Freo (first time round),, Swans, . None of these matches ended well.

  • Demonland changed the title to GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Carlton

Will definitely be another tough match, hope the boys donโ€™t go to sleep in the 2nd half AGAIN, as Carlton finished full of running last week

2016 and not to mention 2 losses against them in 2006 , which cost us top 4

A rock solid team defensive game will get us over the line by about six goals I reckon

Expect the back six to be ruthless tonightย

Different team they're coming up against now though... If Melb are serious about making it to the end we are winning this. Last two weeks are proof of that, have played pretty good footy

Time is now dees, Blues missing all their midfield depth.ย

Foot on the throat and remind the competition we're still a force in 2022ย

I remember 2006 where they were absolute pox. They only won like 3 games? Two of those win came against us and pretty much cost us a top 4 chance.ย

Had we even won one of those games we would have gotten the double chance.

We should win this comfortably but we are teetering on the edge.

A loss today will see my confidence in defending the flag in tatters.

Trac to run riot tonight.

In 2021 we stepped up sure, but this year weโ€™ve folded at the sight of pressure and lost 6 games against top 8 sides. Iโ€™d consider games against our main competition as big games, like the two against the Pies in front of huge crowds at the MCG as a prime example.ย

Iโ€™m still hopeful we can get going and hit out straps again in finals, but evidence says 2022 demons donโ€™t handle pressure well.

Will be watching the umps closely #freekickcarlton

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
