Im surprised that this keeps coming up. Bomber Thompson was never Bomba. Ken Sheldon the St Kilda coach was called BomBa because he looked exactly like Bomba the Jungle boy.  Sheldon looked like the actor who played Boy, the adopted son of  Tarzan in eight Tarzan movies, as well as his role as Bomba the Jungle Boy in a dozen B-Movies. They'd show these sometimes on Saturday afternoons. He was a big hit in the early 60's to kids and IRWC it was Lou Richards who coined it.  But its not that long into the past for this to be mistaken so regularly.

No Bomber Thompson was always Bomber Thompson. I'm the same age and from the same area as him. Went to school with some of his mates.

Funny, because I recall hearing Bomba himself talk about how he was always Bomba after the jungle boy. But maybe you guys know better?

Bedford has the tools but needs to improve to learn how to use them. Eg run to dangerous spots and definitely get the ball more. Time will tell but he's not there yet.

He’s got the talent we still need. Pace and goalkicking. Just get his confidence up.

Dodoro and bombers … “fire-truck” off!!

We might want to play him then.

I would have leaned into a small quick line up after the three losses as it became obvious that we were playing on fumes.

Is he a part of the forward line next year? Because if he isn’t in the 7 then he will be off this October.

Exactly right. Can’t blame the kid for wanting out if Goodwin refuses to play him

Chandler could be the next one.

I’d have both Chandler and Bedford in for Spargo and ANB/Melksham. Would give a different look to our forward line for the better. Would also provide more ground ball presence and defensive pressure as well.

Agree. His pace and goalkicking is a weapon. Goody just loved putting him as a sub. Even when our small forwards were out of form, Goody refused to bring in Chandler or Bedford.

100% SN.  This bloke is class personified with ball in hand which he'll get more of at AFL level IF he's given more chances to get more of it.

Alsi probably the quickest guy on the list (see run down tackles/forward 50 and other areas, pressure at ground level).

He maybe the switch clubs player we need to get a high pick in the draft. That could be used to along with compo we get from WA to get a KPF from somewhere. Sometimes you have to give up someone good to get a needed position player. Like a lot of MFC deals this trade period I think a lot  will happen late in the trade period.

Ess is the front runner and they have picks:  4, 22, 40, 58, 76.  Can't see it being 22 more likely 40.

Hopefully, Diodoro doesn't offer something stupid like 58 and slows down getting the deal done.

Bedford is not the answer for us.

He's another that is just too inconsistent at AFL level. Elite speed but goes missing and questionable foot skills. I don't see how he improves our forwardline going into next year.

Chandler is much more well rounded and whilst doesn't have the pace he has Bedord covered in just about every other facet.
