Any reason why we are not in the frame for Griffin Logue? and/or Lloyd Meek? Or is it a matter of Preferring Grundy on the same 700k bucks + taking a 1st into the draft?

Logue is a battler and never heard of Meek.

Meek has been linked to us as part of the Jackson trade as steak knives. Seems we’re now pursuing Grundy instead.

Logue has also been mentioned, but he apparently wants to stay in WA and is holding out for slightly more money before signing.

Whats this [censored] about Kossie possibly wanting a trade?

But Strawbs would be rather old by now.

Rubbish, we would never have appointed him in the first place.  Didnt know the difference between brie and camembert.

Actually in those days it was either Kraft Velveta or some weird imported stuff.

Where has this Kosi rumour started?

I'll feel sick if we lose him..

Kane Cornes clickbaiting

If Kossi wants out, the price is Rachelle plus pick upgrades.

Freo need to figure out a way to prize Pick 1 off North so they can send us Meek and Pick 1 for Jackson.

At least then we'd end up with Rachelle, Meek and Cadman for Jackson and Pickett.

I have been critical of Kossie at times and am hesitant on Jacko becoming a star, however, we were to lose both in one off season, the club would be in serious turmoil

Out of curiosity, what is Kozzies value in pick terms? We paid 12 for him while a risk, he is now one of the better proven small forwards in the game, so what pick would that equate to? I don’t want to lose KP, this is more a question of pick values and the premium clubs should get for taking the risk and that risk working out.

Pickett is contracted he won't be going anywhere. I think he is more valuable than Jackson and Jackson looks like he will fetch 2 first rounders.

What a load of rubbish!

2 players don’t make a side and we have all our core guns signed on long term deals

No we wouldn't.

If Koz goes we will be even more predictable and easy to defend. He makes us at least a 2 goal a game better side, which currently is a quarter of our score, and he wins us a couple of games a year.

I’d be heartbroken if he left.

Pick 8 & Xavier Duursma

Kane Cornes:  South Australian clubs would love to have Pickett in their team.

Demonland:  Kozzie wants out.  He's gone!  What can we get for him?

Pick 8 will be going to the Bulldogs for Dunkley.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
