Jeepers, game day already?  Better get this work stuff out the way so I can focus…..

Looking forward to some 'absolute' statements' in reference to a loss in this thread. 👌

The two top teams.  We are missing key personnel, but so are Brisbane.  Neither team has been in good recent form.
We have had a number of players well below their best in recent weeks, and a few for quite a bit longer than that.  If these players return to something like their best, we win comfortably.  If not, we struggle.  Classic 8 point game.  Time to put off-field distractions behind us, discard any fatigue from ‘loading’ and assert ourselves.  Go Dees!

Not overly confident about this one

Both teams form is poor and have significant outs

Lions record at the G is pretty bad so i think that swings it in our favor

Dees by 15 points

Bye - what bye ? Seems like we’ve had 10 day break whilst others had 13-14. Nonetheless hopefully there was time for the players and coaches to refresh and reset and get back to the required high standards expected all across the ground.

No Gawn. No Tmcd.  We need to see what LJ and the Weid can deliver.  With chance, comes opportunity!!

Ditto   Absolutely not sure how this is going to turn out. Hoping for the best. Good luck Dees

Melbourne 30+, Petracca BOG, Collective sigh of relief at Demonland

On the road (bus as train not running today). Alarm didn't waken me (I'm deaf and slept on)

. Neighbour woke me and sped the 45 minute trip to the station in 20 mins (absolute legend)

SO like a well oiled machine we can overcome all adversity and recover poise and salvage victory from the jaws of defeat.

GO DEES

Thought I'd give a plug to the Pink Lady cause:  If folks can afford to, chip in some $ to this most worthy cause💗.  Donate before June 30 for an immediate tax deduction.  Folks can buy a 'virtual seat' at the G for tonight's game:  https://www.pinkladymatch.com.au/donations

There are also PLAY4BCNA beanies on sale via the BCNA website.

May gets our 'behind the ball' structure back on track. No gawn means we move the ball quicker and lower the eyes. Fritsch the main beneficiary kicking 5 goals.

And don’t forget y’all… it’s the PINK LADY match!
Maybe add a touch of pink to your attire tonight. Think pink is unmanly? The boys are all running around in pink socks tonight. Tell Jack Viney pink is unmanly. 🤣

Our banner looks AMAZING! And I was told yesterday that BCNA are extremely happy with it, and just as happy with the MFC for continuing to support them by hosting this match every season. 💖

GO DEES!

edit: see @Lucifers Hero’s post, above. Thanks Luci 😘

Round 12 last year is on Fox now. Things I have noticed so far are the Lions go the man early, umps are dreadful on holding the ball or incorrect disposal, and you can't touch Hipwood or Daniher.

Midfield needs to fire tonight. Clarry is a jet every week, but Petracca has been down on impact since illness. If he can return to form it’ll go a long way to us winning. Mids need to lower the eyes going inside 50 and forwards need to stay in motion and present. It’s really that simple for us.

Dees by 11 points.

I was lucky enough to see that game live - for me it was really the start of believing we were the real deal

Up to half time they had us covered easily - second half we simply ran harder and moved the ball quickly. Zac Bailey was very handy for them with 4 goals so him out is a positive - flip side we got 3 or 4 I think from TMac who is missing :(

If we don't lift our intensity significantly and get more efficient with ball in hand we can't win tonight - hopefully tonight things change and they can get the season back on track

I'm probably more confident tonight then I have the past 2 games.

Something tells me having May back and a week off will do us good.

9 days or so  isnt exactly a huge freshen-up but im hoping its enough. We have been slammed in the media until good ol' Jordy helped give us some respite from the front pages (bless his cotton socks)

Tipping us to win by 3 or 4 goals.

Go Dees!

Four in a row

That’s the spirit!

As others have noted, bailey out is huge.

One, he is a total gun.

Two, he is the exactly the sort of forward we struggle to contain ie gun small to medium goal kickers.

The lions usually really stretch us in that regard, because they have bailey and Cameron (not to mention half forwards McCarthy and this year raynor, and mids like mccluggage).

With bailey out we have more options for Cameron.

On that, you'd think hibbo gets first crack on Cameron.

Sort of like: "If we lose tonight then we are X and I will Y all over the place"?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
