Christ is that still happening? I’m always on Foxtel so luckily can avoid that.

channel 7 think BT is the reason people tune in

I wonder how much the ratings drop when that absurd, cringeworthy roaming bit starts?  If I hold on that long, it is definitely time to turn off.

A draw between Cats and Tigers would be nice - makes it a little harder for either feline to make top 4. 😼

Very wary of either team in the top 4 for finals.

Who are people tipping today?

Blues missing 8 best 22 players but still have their 4 stars playing…

If Freo keep their defensive structure they should win I reckon

I like when Essendon lose.

It's a pity Essendon, WC, the Dogs and Hawthorn couldn't all lose last night. What a horrible collection of teams.

How can anyone take this guy seriously?

Honestly, I respect him like I respect Brayshaw wearing a helmet. If you listened to his story. He almost became blind in both eyes from fingers in eyes on the footy field. And another one would make him blind. Wearing glasses means his able to play afl, despite all the flack that people who don't understand give him.

Blues have an uncanny way of transitional ball movement..

I do love this alternate reality we are living in where, we are the well run club, littered with All Australians going for back-to-back flags and Essendon are a laughing stock. Long May it last

I was just about to type the exact same thing, but thought quoting you would suffice. But I want icing on the cake.

I want us to win the flag, North to win a couple, Cats to go straight out of the finals with 2 losses, Tiges to finish ninth, and the Bombers get the Wooden Spoon.

I have indeed read his story and do sympathise with him.
I was referring to this particular pic.

Fell asleep at halftime and had the best sleep ever…now greeted by a great wake up. When was the last time the Eagles kicked 100+?

I think they  mentioned on the telecast that it was 28 or 29 games.

I find all 3 games today hard to tip. Freo should win but it is over here. Not a clue about geel and rich and who cares anyway.  Sydney you would think but St Kilda are close to the most schizophrenic side in the competition. Don't know what you will get out of them.

I’ve gone

Carlton

Cats

Swans

Crows

GWS

Port

No real justification for any of these results, just a gut feel. If anything I think teams are finding out that being switched on every game is more difficult than it sounds. I tipped the Eagles last night which has paid off.

Somehow Richmond get to play an ‘away’ game today at their own home ground against a team with a publicly funded stadium 50 minutes away?

Why is Chris Scott not whinging about this like he does every year about finals? This is why I hate Geelong. They constantly get it both ways, and complain about it only when it doesn’t suit them.

Collingwood often gets criticised for how many games it plays at the G each year, but clubs continually request to play them there because of the crowd they bring.

20+ years of being hopeless appears to have turned Carlton supporters into insufferable, foam at the mouth flogs. I hope they get pumped today.

They were always insufferable, just had to hold it in!! :)

Schizophrenic was mentioned above. What is my diagnosis please?  I want Horethorn, Filth, Essendrugs, Jeelog all to finish 18th.  Happy for Bunt Road to finish 9th.

“Do you have a 2nd Team?”

”NO…”

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
