Would like to see Petracca play forward more this week. I understand that is dependent on how the midfield is going but  I think his presence forward would help

He’s not allowed to take a set shot though! Waste of a shot unless he’s dead in front 20 out.

I've watched a bit of Casey this year, and Rosman looks close to AFL level, although not heaps of the ball in recent weeks. Agree about Moniz-Wakefiled. He looks classy but goes missing for long periods.

I thought that Rosman has been out injured.  But from whatI hear he is getting close, though not as was originally intended as a wingman, but as a defender.

Well I am certain Ginivan will get a whole lot of frees in front of goal - AFL has decreed.

I have a feeling Turner might debut. A key defender, 194 cm, been in reasonable form, what we need with May out I guess.

Shots at goal in general play only…or if he takes a mark play on shot at goals

Why?? He worked his guts out and did a few good things. He could bob up and kick a couple of goals! I think your comments harsh!

Probably kick a few if the mids can connect properly rather than drop the ball on his head and expect him to take mark of the yr each time.

Mids need to lower their eyes ffs.

I think the club needs to seek clarification before Monday on the holding the ball rule.  Is their March decree still current? I guess we find out Monday.

“Free kicks will be awarded against players who duck their heads prior to being tackled and do not dispose of the ball correctly.

Some of the red flags for umpires will include players evading, fending, ducking, having a prior option and not taking it, being balanced and steady, or driving their head.”

If Petty is still not right and Turner comes in for him we look very shaky at the back

No offense to Turner but he'll be a first gamer.

I reckon Petty will play even if only at 80%

M.Brown still in is laughable.

Looking like terrible choices, we'll see once the final team is announced.

Not so funny. Mitch did a far better job than Ben.

Trust your eyes too.

Yep.

He gets up and down the ground, albeit at not a great pace, which is important in terms of replacing Tmac.

He's not super strong, but  good one on one and he is an excellent kick for goal.

So a better like for like, and better option you'd have to say, than weed.

Rosman missing last week so i only saw about 3 quarters of him (live) the week before.  Watched a bit on the box earlier.  Shows promise i just worry about his slight frame playing off HB going up a level to AFL.  Maybe another pre-season will help here?  Also whose role would he be looking to slot into?

The other that showed a bit against the Swans (i thought anyway) was McVee in patches.

On recent form, they should be

A bit harsh,  first game back in how long? Forward line's a problem but delivery is the bigger problem

All the talk is of Turner covering Petty. Any chance Turner plays ahead of Tomlinson if Petty is okay? Tommo has looked way off the pace to me.

No info, but Disco is more a Lever-type than a Petty-type IMO, so I wonder if Lever is not 100%?

Reminds me more of a Rod (Tilt) Carter or Blakey type (potentially).

Tomlinson looked like he was low on confidence in his knee and his ability last week. ACLs can take 18 months to get back to your best if you ever do. Poor bloke. Massive sliding doors moment last year in Tassie.

All we need to top off this wonderful week is yet another defender to go down. Lever hasn’t been 100% all year. Sticky tape that sh it up and let’s go!

Is Jackson a certainty to make the 22 given he’s named on the bench, hasn’t played a decent game since round 2 and is averaging 2 marks a game since round 6/Anzac Eve?

Great to see Hunt out been pathetic. How Ben Brown gets a game I do not know? Rewarding mediocrity Hopefully disco replaces Tommo but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Pathetic. Mediocre. Why.. why are you like this?

This was my initial thought also considering they've brought in Weideman.

I highly doubt it though..

I’m tipping Bakes to play, we sorely need his pace and creativity, Jordan or Sparrows to be omitted, both are way to vanilla in my book.

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
