What I want to see this week more than anything else is Wet Toast being kept to 3-4 goals max. whilst we rack up 18-20 ourselves .

We need to boost the % to the max while we have the chance !!!

I think our fwd line still needs some tweaking (i.e. can be improved) Surely they benefit of the next two games to gain more confidence and build up momentum.

We are a 3 goal a qtr better side as a minimum. Less than a 12 goal win would be a wasted opportunity.

Could give 186 a shake

Got this from BF, I'd have to admit feeling like this in the past.

Would be great if Fritta and Brown can repeat their goal tally from the last game we played in Perth.

Going to he game.  But not expecting a great spectacle.  I don't think we'll smash them.  We just play our system and accumulate a score around 100 I think.  Their lowest score ever was 1.12 in 1989, I'd like to see us break that :)

May and Petty are hard body defenders. Which leads to 1-2 goals a game from weak free kicks. Kennedy will bank a few from that alone.

As long as Lightning doesn't bob up and throw us off our game again, we'll be right.

Just take the four points anything else is a bonus.

There is history that says that beating up on poor sides comes back and bites you.

Off to our other dancefloor in Perth. Don't use that expression around the Weagles as it may confuse 'em. 😉

No, don't mention dancefloor, they might actually turn up to play.

If I was a West coast fan, I wouldn't be fearing a 150 point loss, that's not the Melbourne way.

What I might be fearing is sitting there at 3/4 time without a goal on the board. Guarantee that'll be the only number Melbourne cares about.

Yes… we don’t need a massive win to increase our percentage; just restrict them to as low a score as possible, and a 50-60 point margin is suddenly a big percentage boost.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a repeat of the North game last year where they were given no chance.

Down at half time by a couple of goals. Cop a rocket at half time. Hold a 2 goal lead at 3 qtr time and then run away with it in the last qtr to win by 6-7 goals.

As good as we've been since round 1 2021, we've only dished out one genuine flogging in a game against a bottom side (GC at Marvel). Not sure if that's by design or they can't mentally get themselves up for a four quarter master piece.

Might be time for the team to review the 2018 Preliminary Final...

... it's time for the old payback.

These “what they’re saying” are my fave so the lack of both “ we’ll be rooned” and “we’ll beat them” posts from the West is terribly disappointing

Demons odds on Sportsbet have eased dramatically ... by 100%. Demons now paying $1.02 for the win, and W. Coast shortened to $17.

Hmm, wonder if the bookies have got some inside mail  🤔

That's me doing the pre-game no major injury prayer.

$19 for a two horse race is outrageous.  not sure I've ever seen it, not even at our worst or even when GC/GWS first entered the league.  I reckon a few have thrown a bit of money at it purely for that reason, shortening the odds slightly.

Yeah they probably got mail that Gawn and Lever will be rested, making us only 17 times more likely to win the game.

I seem to remember the same optimism going into the Crows game last year, strange things can and do happen

Elliott Yeo out with H&S Protocols

Hurn may be rested!

I don't think we'll win by anywhere near as much as what people think, it'll still be comfortable but I'm sure the coaches will press home playing to the system rather than trying to destroy them. After every win, we're still hearing the players and coaches talking about 'learnings', 'structures', 'game plan implementation' etc. So I think they'll value a player committing to their role, more than running forward so we get another goal. Of course WC might be that bad that it turns into a thrashing, but I don't think that'll be by design.

WC are only missing 8 first 22 players and are playing at home.

The coaches will be mainly working on keep our mentality strong this week on the track

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
