1.10 is worse then right on Mothers day Lunches

I could think of nothing better to do on mothers than go to the G and watch this one unfold.

I'm not a mother though so what would I know

We’ve beaten this mob once at the MCG since the 2006 elimination final.

Saints on an 8 day break should have recovered from their Cairns trip.

Really hoping we can bank this win as we have some tough fixtures between rounds 11 and 15. Would love to be 10-0 before we face Sydney and Freo at the G.

We can afford to lose 4 games this year IMO in order to finish top 2. Would rather not use one up today.

Would you happen to have the breakdown of many times we’ve played them at the G since then? We rolled them last year but that was at Marvel.

Yeah, we don’t do Mother’s Day at mine.
Apparently we do game day…

Now to work out whose work this is: the hipster uni student or the bedroom-dwelling, PS5-playing teenager. 🤔

LOL found these in the bottom of the wrapping. They know I lose/break earbuds on a weekly basis.

Added a pic of what was almost thrown out with the wrapping paper. 😬

This haven't been tested B/S. The doggies threw everything at us and come up short. As did the Suns Hawk and Tigers. Port is the only team that rolled over.

Bit too much taking in the media puffing up the Saints. We win this by 27 points.

They just want a bit of excitement. "Best team wins again" is dull compared to "so-called best team is vulnerable" or "pretenders toppled from top of ladder."

Wayward Saints seeking salvation. Last seen sliding for a slither of soap in slippery northern slimes.

Scraping like seagulls in a slather for seemingly senseless seconds searching for a slim score.

Media mogul machinations on Mother’s Day may mirror minor minds.

Determined Demons dastardly dash delusions of disorientated  delinquent delight.

Saints or sinners saved for slaughter by the last quarter.

I was more talking about posters in here believing it.

MFCSS is strong today.

Time to vanquish an upstart challenger.
Bring on 7-0.
Go the Mighty Demons.

I don’t have the breakdown handy but I believe St Kilda have won 8 of our last 9 meetings at the G.

Nervous as all hell.

(I hated mothers day; something always came 'unstuck' and then it was on....)

Hope Tom has a great 200th game. Not that you'd know with little fanfare about it.

But hope we have a good win & we carry him off

Mothers Day is just the creation of Hallmark and retailers. Surely every day should be considered Mothers Day.

Not Fathers Day.

Don't get me started on "Secretaries Day"

A cynical money grab by the florist industry.

Expecting to win well.

At some point we drop a few games during the season.

Still when look at quality across ground

Backs - May Lever Petty Brayshaw Bowey

Mids - Max Trac Clarry Langdon

Forwards - Fritsch Brown

Running power - ANB Kossie Spargo Sparrow Hunt

Add system and we look very hard to beat!

Go Demons!

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
