Excited to have BBB and Weid in the same forward line - could be the dawn of a very destructive duo if aggressive Weid comes to play.

Interested to see what Dunstan can do and looking forward to seeing sparrow in the middle for a whole game.

Really looking forward to this game.

Im tipping a 40 point win going away in the last as that seems to be our style.

Great to be on prime-time again.

Go Us!!

I reckon this will be a close one - for about 15 minutes.

It's pretty good to be our shoes at the moment. Two of the best defenders going around are out of  our side yet we can bring in quality like Petty and Smith and still have Tommo waiting for a shot. I can't see geriatric Jack doing much damage and Lynch is a frontrunner.

Without their main man Dusty they lack both fire power and muscle.

Really keen to watch Dunstan in the middle and also Sparrow with extra responsibility.

Hope Weid and BBB don't run into each other but I reckon Kozzie will thrive on the big stage and  clean up.

In a moment of rare generosity I've given The Manor's domestic staff the weekend off! I even shouted them a camping site (non powered) in the hills.

I imagine they've well and truly pitched their tents by now!

The Tigs will be fired up for this one, but I just don’t see the firepower in their arsenal.  I expect them to match us early, but when we pull the trigger for our 3rd quarter onslaught, the battle will be over in the blink of an eye. Dees by around 6 goals.

Missed this game last year, which was a ripper, and cannot wait to head in for ceremony & spectacle.

Hoping to see a huge crowd but the town seems strangely vacated again, like last weekend.

Figure Dunstan shouldn't be too out of his depth given Tiggers faultering midfield.

Get along if you're able 'landers & go us.

Really like reading Gameday thread when we are premiers and the side others aspire to be,

the positive vibes are good to feel.

we will lose unexpectedly but not tonight. The game will be hard therefor we expect to have to play to win.

we should power away after the main break, Go Dees.  B2B in 22

We go in favourite, and rightly so, but the Tiges are very well coached and their smaller players are in great form. It is their ageing stars that are letting them down, and I think they might struggle to score. I am hoping to see Langdon, Jordon, Hunt and Brayshaw tear them apart with gut running and relentless transition footy. And like many others, I have been waiting for an extended stint of seeing Weid and BB play together.

For me, into the train with 3 family members at 3.30pm and down to the game I go. Could be a late-ish night home - approx 12.30am - but worth it in anticipation of a great win.

Since this one is an away game, will the cheer squad be at the ponsford stand end or the regular spot in the Warne stand?

Such generosity is unheard of in Romsey, Uncle, I'm sure other townfolk and peasantry must look up in Awe and Envy of the Benevolence of the Master of the Manor.

FREE UNPOWERED SITES????? Just absolutely astounding goodwill!😁

Shout-out to Hunty today playing his 100th game. He's been one of my favourites outside the plethora of stars we have in our side. He always takes the game on and plays with courage and dare. Let's hope we can get the win for you today mate. Congrats!

I think it will be a pretty close game today and the Tigers will be up for the fight but we will prevail by 3-5 goals

Ambition - day was planned, pub lunch with a couple of other Dees, arvo ferry from Portarlington staying in town overnight, dining room dinner on 2nd level AFL Members area, celebrate the night after watching the Dees, back on ferry in morning with probable hangover

Reality - came down with Covid 2 days ago, will spend the day coughing and sneezing while watching the game instead !!

Go Dees

Our system is water tight. I expect Smith and Dunstan to slot in seamlessly

The only Tiges player that concerns me is Shai Bolton. He's a gun. Overall though we have the better players

Looking forward to a big crowd and a few celebratory beers on swan St post game

Forward marking will be the key along with accuracy.

If we limit their marking in the forward 50 and take a few ourselves... game over.

Expecting a heavy defensive press from the Tigers

A Hawthorn supporting workmate said “you’ll be going down to Launceston this weekend Marty”

”No and Why” I said.

”To watch the greatest team of our generation play of course”

”I’ve already seen them live once this year” I replied

“When did you see them?”

”1st game of the season at the G” I waited for the raucous laughter and retorts, but only got

”I see what your doing” then he changed the subject

What a time to be a Dees supporter. A lazy 30 point victory today and the tigers kept below 70 points from the greatest defence of any generation!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
