CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond

Demonland

Recommended Posts

Even if Weed comes out I think its safe he's in our future. He's shown he's developed a lot and hopefully will continue.

Either way we have to field our best 22 each week. Begrudgingly, weed out Brown in.

Ben Brown is the most overrated player on demonland. I will put my house on it that he won't play against the tigers.

Nervous week ahead Werridee.
BBB could replace either Weid or Tmcd.

Tmcd stays in probably on sentiment as he and Weid were probably about even on the night.  Toss of the coin but Weid might miss out.  Goody showed with Tomlinson that despite form, he wants his best premiership 22 back in formation.

There is no chance we will make a change after such a dominant performance. Weid was good he will need a drop of form and Brown to play well in the 2's for Brown to get his spot back. Sorry Ben but you are definitely playing in the 2's next week,. A great problem to have.

Agreed its a great problem.

But as with Petty, a finals star defender, once fit he's back into the best defence in the AFL no question and the same thinking by Goodwin will do the same and premiership forward back in next week for Weid.

Hard call but the right one.

Goodwin avoided the isseu at the presser by emphasising just how tough it is for spots but footy has always been this way. So many in this team are now automatic selections on merit and history.

Surely Bedford can’t be the sub six times in a row?

Sure can I reckon. Jordon might have done six straight last year. Goodwin loves stability. Plus he isn’t getting into the starting 22 right now. So unless being the sub is robbing him of a VFL game, he’s in the best place he can be.

It'll be Ben Brown for T Mac.

Pin this post.

Tmac hasn't fired a shot for too long now and Weed deserves another crack after tonight.

Call me the Oracle.

Just watched Goodies presser and it's clear that Weed will stay in and Brown will come in for Tom. (save for any unforeseen circumstances).

Tom Mac has been so underwhelming of late it beggars belief. You only had to look at his body language post siren to see that he knows he's out of form.

Weed not going anywhere, hopefully this will kick Tom into gear a bit.

Tom looks like that all the time. Getting carried away with celebrations has never been his thing.

Disagree, he looked more dejected than normal and has been playing that way for a while now.

And Thursday night will reveal all.

Brown has played 1 game in 3 weeks after COVID protocols then getting suspended.

Regardless of past points on the board he should get another game in the magoos to prove his form.  Weideman competed hard all night, double teamed most of the time he went for a mark in the F50.

If Lever pulls up sore this week the Smith comes in for him, should be the only change IMHO

Hmm not sure about that.

He went nuts when he shepherd that Tom Sparrow goal in last year's grand final.

His body language when he missed that goal late in the game showed a guy that's completely bereft of confidence.

What part/quote exactly makes you think that?

Barring injury it'll be BBB for SW. That's no disrespect to Sam but just like Harry Petty this week Ben Brown is definitely best 22 material and often commands an extra opposition defender for that reason.

If Weed doesn't stamp his authority now on cementing a spot in our fwd line he never will.

He has to stay in and unfortunately BBB has to behide his time in the Twos.

Attacked the contest well last night, he will pick himself if his performances are there, if not can only blame himself.

No change, Weideman should get 6 -8 weeks to prove himself

He's had 3 already would like to see him stick around in a bit longer but as said before BBB a best 22 player, imagine they'll drop SW before Tmac

Last year, Hunt lost his place in the team and couldn't get it back. We have to reward form. As good as BBB is, he has to now wait just like he had to last year.  He makes us a better side but our forward line clicked into top gear last night and it looked very, very good.

No change. Unless Lever is still limping today.

I must have missed when lever and petty came j to undefeated sides for Smith and Tomlinson, Ben Brown if fit is our best tall fwd no way of fit he doesn’t come in regardless of team form

Interesting different people's take on the game, for mine both were hardly sighted in the first half, then both elevated their game after half time. Both became useful contributors but nothing outstanding. It's fanciful that BBB wouldn't replace one of them, he's ahead every day of the week. I'll stick by this even if he doesn't get picked. For mine it's Weid out out, I believe TMac gives more consistency of effort than Weid who never seems to take the game on just hopes that the game comes to him.

Weed did a pretty good job, though still dropped too many that he got to, but BBBB surely is a given.

Otherwise absolutely no change (barring injury)

Three that he dropped Brown would have swallowed.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
