Nothing on Gus mate. I think it all depends on LJ

But seriously why would you make a call before the Season is done?

Both Players could be dual Premiership

That would make things very different.
I wouldn’t be signing anything yet….

Agree. If they are leaving, we wont hear till after our last game. If they are staying, we may not hear till after the last game.

Having read that article, I am more convinced than ever that being an AFL journalist is easier than ever. The bloke spent an entire page writing a kids fantasy novel and offered no solution on how Freo get the deal done, despite his headline. What a complete waste of 5 minutes reading that dribble.

The AFL issues trade edicts  whilst paying gossip columnists (afl.com au) to trade trashy rumours about who is going where.

So genuinely what do you lads reckon? Should he stay or should he go?

Well in the words of Joe Strummer: If he leaves there will be trouble but if he stays there will be double..

One of the worst articles of the year.

Cheers mate, thank goodness you're here.

My opinion he should stay.

But he's Gawn.

Actually it was Mick Jones that wrote and sang Should I Stay Or Should I Go.

If we can get a best 22 player and first round picks I’d be doing the deal without a second thought. He’s a below average player now and I doubt he’ll ever be a top 10 in the league player that Freo will pay him as. Let’s use the hype to improve our list again.

Dont agree LT. I think the kid is gonna be a star.

Its obvious his mind is not on the job atm and he has mentally checked out.

Say Lar Vee

(in honor of the grammar thread)

Jackson needs good advice, currently disrupting team with constant talk and frankly dont take him next week to freo game.

Freo shredding every email, smashing every phone and dissolving every shred of evidence that they've ever talked to Jackson's management

I thought Jackson was crap tonight. No-where near the money they are quoting. Good luck to them.

You never checked out of a job when you’ve got a better offer somewhere else?

Wouldn’t necessarily trust a source that can’t spell ‘knew’

Any chance  we could’ve played the safe option and chose the local boy in Hayden Young who is tracking towards being clearly one of the best players of that 2019 draft?

No big trades like this end up really hurting side they leave.

at the end of the day we are going to get a good deal for a kid who "could" be a gun.  he had a big part in getting us a flag, and this trade could be a big part in our next!

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
