Hibbo destroyed Cameron last night. Did his job. He plays unless injured.

Not bad after not playing for a while.

In the worse case scenario of Steven May not getting up to play due to his hamstring issue I would consider the possibility of using Majak Daw as a defender.

Here's hoping there are no changes though.

Having a settled side is the best option.

Whoever is the medical substitute will be the big question.

Nathan Jones will be going home to witness the birth of his twins. Family always comes first.

In my view will be either, James Jordon, Jayden Hunt or Jake Melksham.

Well you should not have to change the 23 who won a prelim by 83 points. However do not play even a slightly injured player in a grand final. If May can't get up then Hunt in.

No change,May will be fine hes got 2 weeks to recover, feel sorry for Hunt been there all year and played well.

Serious? He had 9 possessions in a quarter after sitting on his bum for 3/4. He was given a ranking ahead of 12 players who played the whole game. He laid 2 tackles and took 3 marks and got his possessions all over the ground,  by running to make position or contest. He will be in the 23. Sparrow had 2 more possies and similar other stats in 4 quarters. Not sure what more you can expect of a sub.

I totally agree with you re Jordan, I thought he was good in the limited time he was on. However those ranking points also had Petty as the 38th best player on the ground which is just plain silly.

i don't think there is any way plugger mac will move back; we won't want to mess with our 'structure'

i could understand if hunt was brought in for hibberd if may does get up...but at the same time i can't see any change being made

Does anyone have Burgo's number so I can call him for an update on May's hammy every day?

An interview up on MFC Facebook page. He will be training as usual. He is ‘super confident’ in his body.

he is saying everything you want to hear. No doubt on that front. Hopefully it’s genuine and he’ll be right to go.

Who’s in?  I think no change.  But tempted to add Hunt for his pace as the sub. Jordon probably gets the loyalty nod.

likely v Dogs

Their midfield is their absolute strength.
Bont Macrae Smith Libba Hunter Treloar Dunkley.  7 very very good players.  Contested footy and pace to run it. Huge huge huge midfield contest.  Dees can bring it and are able to get it done.  Trac, Clarry, Jack, Harmes, Langdon, Brayshaw, Sparrow.

Dogs defence is very solid. Keys are Dale and Daniel across half back. They are skilled and run it.  Anb and probably Spargo will have to stand up. It’s critical. They destroyed us in round 19.  Wood or Williams also very good and match up on Fritsch. Rourke Smith or Duryea on Pickett.
Jackson and Brown could be our wildcards and will be the Dogs headaches and have to have to stand out.

Dogs attack is Naughton and Schache for height but it’s the pace of Hannan Vandermeer   and potent Johanissen or Weightman. May and Petty backed up by Salem and Hibbo and Bowey and Rivers are well backed.  Lever again will be reversed tagged by the Dogs.

Gawn and Jackson v English and Martin.  This is the Dees ability to win first footy and Jackson is the player who could be the youngster who can make a big influence up forward or in the relief ruck role.

I'm channel surfing. How's Stef Martin going? Can't possibly run out the game.

He does if they are 15 days apart. There will be no change if May is right. Only would be if they go Hunt as sub.

Hunt as sub sounds good to me. Taking nothing away from JJ, but Hunt's speed is a weapon. Can play both ends of the ground.

I think he or Smith if fit will be cover for May as the sub

Yep, if May were to go down, Smith is more like for like. Otherwise if Hunt were sub TMc may need to swing back on May's oppo and Hunt go forward.

Will be interesting what impact a weeks break will do to the bulldogs?

Will it make them leggy in the GF?

Wondering the same thing. The extra week off might be a bit odd to them.

Hmmm the doggies are a very dangerous team. Deep and powerful midfield, who know how to put scoreboard pressure on too. This is going to be an awesome game.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
