Just do not know how to ice a game.

Didn’t like that quarter at all. Looked like we were trying to protect our lead.

Get proactive Dees, come out hard and kick the first one

So now every team knows.  The way to beat the Dees is to beat the hell out of the Dees.  The umpires will look the other way.

Jackson's front teeth knocked out...

No call from an umpire of course.  Nothing to see here.

Poor guy...no good...he looked a bit shocked.

We haven't done enough. Honestly if we kick one of those it's probably done. Until we break that barrier and kick a fricken goal then this game is well and truly on.

After last week vs the Cats, 4 goals in front feels like a lot less than it usually does...

We've let them back into this. BB with a terrible miss early in that quarter set the tone

Looks like an [censored] when he is 20 out goes back 50 and missis

He hasn’t touched it. He’s getting in Brown’s way. He can’t run. He’s laid one tackle. It’s not great.

Smith, Harmes, Tracc, Bowey, Macca and Spargo (apart from the one chase down and VG goal)....not the greatest games so far

need to win this last quarter. They came back hard that quarter as we knew they would. our 2 points did not help but they are still 19 points behind. we cannot play defensive , that looks like weakness that they will pounce on, put them away. attack. Go Dees

I think they are correct .

He was lost last week and seems more this week. Four disposals.

Fairly [censored] off at the moment. 😡 We really want the first 1-2 goals to start the last, first 5-6 would be nice. 🤞🏻

The 3rd quarter is a premiership quarter. We were far from it. Love brown but gee we got him to kick those. That was a pathetic quarter & we shied away from what we did right in the 2nd quarter.

Come on Melbourne, regroup

Were his teeth literally knocked out???

If you miss the easy ones they will make you pay, comeon Dees.!!

That was a really poor quarter, but geez it would have been so different if Brown and ANB took their chances. Brown's miss was especially poor.

We need to reset, and come out looking to score. Then convert our chances.

Some of the guys who've been quiet need to get in this, like TMac. Cameron needs to be kept in check...

I DON'T WANT TO SEE ONE DAMN MOTORBIKE IN THIS FINAL QUARTER.

Let's go, Dees!

would have a neitz at full forward in this team would kick a ton every year, forward line is crap

Serioisly. Just kick a damn goal. I'm not worried about defending, somebody needs to step up and kick it.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
