How I feel about other supporters who want to jump on our journey

Sorry, I’m another voice for “all welcome”. Why be picky?

Especially anyone who happens to live in Adelaide who might want to barrack for “not Port”, and might like to adopt a certain minor premiership team who look like making SA home for the final seies. Crows fans should get around us!

They've got 2/3rds of our colours already, they HATE Port more than many could imagine, and our coach was one of their all-time greats. Get around us Crows fans. 😀

Not sure, but we dont want trolls. Getting a bit of love from friends who have had success because they appreciate the wait

It was once explained to me that Adelaide Crows were 'the Demons of Adelaide' with regards to their fans being less demographicly challenged. Port Adelaide on the other hand......

I don't care to know any detail nor have confirmation but to Adelaide in general..... CLIMB ABOARD!!!!!!

As we will be playing every finals match away from our home ground and state, we need as many people as possible to jump on board, attend the match and make some noise.

Any chance SANFL Norwood supporters will turn up on Saturday night to give us some support?

You bet. It's a Grand Old Flag!

I have had so much goodwill and support from supporters of the Saints, Norf, the Blues...yes the Blues, even Geelong over the past 24 hours that is actually quite moving. There are plenty of people who support non-finals clubs who are happy to see the Dees finally doing well that I think is fantastic.

We should embrace the mood. We win one, and people will ride with us. Two might be a problem, but people who know Demons supporters who have stuck through thick and thin want to see us go on and are literally on our side.

Notably, no Hawthorn supporters have come out to support me, but that's just what I'd expect. Anyone else, jump on!

I’ve got a couple of Crows supporters to come on Saturday night.

They will come out of the woodwork for this one with the common links between the clubs.

Demons and Redlegs unite as one for its a grand old flag for the teams of the red and the blue.

The more the merrier I say. Having said that, I’ve noticed quite a few opposition supporters on Twitter wanting us to choke. We have long been the whipping boy for opposition supporters and one team that they love to call a rabble. Some people can’t stand the perennial losers starting to win and be successful as they fear their team will take that mantle.

I’m expecting no love from Freo, Carlton, Essendon, Saints and Pies supporters.

I think it's funny because I heard so many in the MCC bellyache in 2018 how they had to line up in the finals. Too many old supporters like their creature comforts of walking up 10 minutes before the bounce knowing their seat is their every game day. 57 years without silverware will do that.

With success comes more bums on seats and clubs don't survive without supporter growth. AFL is a business after all. We play to a schedule, not a draw.

Honestly, the number of people from other clubs who have told me that if it can't be their team this year they want it to be the Dees is ridiculous.  There is so much good will towards this team right now.  Everyone can see how hard they have worked and how much it means to them. If it means that the neutral crowds interstate are going to be cheering them on, I'm all for it.  Jump on the bandwagon and help lift them to a flag.

I must be a [censored] then. After reading everyones thoughts. I thoroughly blame he 70, 80, 90 ,00 and the last 10 years for my attitutde ofn hate. Well put it this way, if we win noone will enjoy the party like only us can. Maybe that is a bit nicer. '

Actually if I see a Hawthorn supporter reveling in our journey they can definitely go and suck a fat one. And Essendon.

This seems a strange way to think, when we will almost certainly be relying on either Adelaide or Perth club supporters to wave our flag come Grand Final day.

Everyone is welcome I say.

I listened to a female Collingwood fan cry on radio with Whateley yesterday when she recalled watching Tracs interview post match on Sat night.

It was very moving and I'm rapt to have others jump on our wagon!

Was so happy for the doogies to win a flag.

Its hard not support a team thats missed out for fifty plus years.

The more the merrier.

A lot of my close friends are footy mad. All of them have said that if their team can't win it they are fully on the Melbourne bandwagon... maybe because they know how happy it will make me, but also because of the fairytale notion of it.

In fact my Essendon mate said that since he knows they can't win it this year, that he is backing in the Dees, although his Swans mad wife is going to divorce him for doing that.

All aboard!!!!

This is how we win new fans and get kids on board for the life journey.

This is how we move from a minnow (sob) club back to a powerhouse.

All aboard!!!

No-one cares, but I've had no empathy or good will from my footy supporting mates. They're all too concerned with their clubs (none playing finals) to give a rats about the Mighty Demons.

57 years etc

I'm gonna assume you're too young to remember 1987 when we made finals after 26 years of [censored].

As we progressed it seemed like the whole city was on board with us....and it felt great

Embrace the positives WoK, even the bandwagoners. You'll enjoy the ride even more

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
