We win because we were in front at half time. So if Kossie had missed we would have lost and were 32 point in front.

Not the rule. If the game is past halfway, team in front as the scores are when called off are the winners.

Part of me wishes we were a point up.

I can cope with that idea in an hour

Absolutely. Thank WA government and their [censored]. Could have played yesterday but no, 7 days to quarantine 🙄 coz 6 is not enough but 14 is too much. Flogs.

Exactly. Political posturing masquerading as Pseudoscience.

Poor Hunty!!

It could be precautionary. He isn’t in a boot.

He has been amazing today. Would almost say today has been a more complete performance than last week.

Rising star surely.

Attacking the marks, brilliant at ground level!! Loved his work tonight.

What I was told was the game would normally continue with lightning but the metal plate in McGovern’s head attracts the lighting so the players had to clear the ground.

I don't give a stuff about scenarios. I just want to finish the game

How big is Kozzies goal on the siren now?

I think it is whoever in front when they stop the game not who is in front at half time.  You need to start the 3rd qtr for it to be a result

I know that, you know that - why don't the commentators whose job it is to know this stuff and who p;layed the bloody game know that!

Pretty sure they changed the rules after the Essendon/St.Kilda blackout game at Waverley in the early 90s

Not liking the idea of sending our guys back out cold, sounds like soft tissue territory.

100% - not feeling great about this.

Break suits us....we come rest im a final qrt of 15 mins...same score.

Current result stands at time of stoppage if after half time

They don't wind it back

That's good if correct

Xavier Ellis reported the half time result would apply

If it ends this way it's kind of a downer just in the sense we want to roll them.

David King is saying if I'm Melbourne I'm saying nah that's it. He said why would you want your players cooling down then running back out there. If we lose any key players to hammys or groins I will be filthy

Is the game clock still ticking. Might be a handle trivia question for years to come, The longest ever fourth quarter in an AFL game.

Really hope so J!! We will need him come finals.

No, the ruling is that if the game has reached half time, the team in the lead when it is called off, gets the four points.

I would have thought so too. How would it be if West coast were in front at half time yet we were 6 goals up now. You wouldn't have to worry about the anti vaccine protesters, MFC members would be coming!

They did on Kayo.

Can we all just agree to disagree and award us the win.

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
