...singing the song in masks.....thats like showering in a raincoat..or....

At least we started spotting up a few targets in the second half. Also, our game is built entirely around defence, I can't see us winning a game by more than 6 goals. A two game lead on top, so who gives a [censored] how we win.

Great game from Gus tonight. Hunt did a great job on Tippa as did Hibbo on Stringer. JJ and Sparrow continue to impres. The forward line needs a rethink.

And yet... we do!

Our best games have come against the top 4 challengers. We have been really unconvincing agaisnt the rest yet keep winning ugly.

This was a really ugly game. I usually look forward to the replay, but i wont be watching this one again. I doubt i will watch the highlights more than once.

Job done.

What a stain on the competition the Bombers are, everything about them is so gross

Take it and run.

Also eat a bag you salty loser Essendon drug injecting cheats.

I think that was a very determined win by our boys. Essendon are a side that’s playing with a lot of confidence, and I feel like we are a bit down on it. To do the hard things well and get the win was very important, and shows a good deal of maturity.

Our kicking for goal is infuriating, but it’s not a pattern yet so let’s not over think it.

I really enjoy knowing that Spargo, Brayshaw, Langdon and Jordan are going to put their body on the line when it matters. It’s not about being a superstar, it’s about maintaining intensity and going when it’s your turn. I feel like that’s the most pleasing thing about our season to date. The setting of standards.

Will take the win, but we are a long way from the side that was 8-0.

Teams are starting to find ways to pick us apart and you just hope we can start managing more than a grinding win leading into September.

Lots of blokes a long way off their best and we keep winning so there is from to improve

I will confess I have not seen a 2nd of this game. I was at home but to scared to watch so I checked the scores and very happy with the win.

I have recorded it so I'm thinking may just watch the 2nd half.

But at some stage we will have to put a team to the sword.

2 games clear on top, no injuries good night.

But happy we beat the bummers & wrecked there supporters night

We were fairly scrappy throughout most of the night but we still got the job done. This game was another reminder that even when we're not playing our best footy we're still finding ways to win. The Melbourne of 2019-2020 certainly would not have maintained the lead in the final quarter.

Lever and May were immense. Brayshaw's slowly making progress. Langdon was very good, as usual. If anything needs improvement it would be our forwardline. It was quite obvious from the beginning that we needed either Mitch Brown or Ben Brown.

Let's take the four points and move on to next week.

Defence too good.

So odd to be sitting atop the ladder and still waiting for the team to click.

The Roos' defensive ethos was bs. Stemmed the bleeding is all.

And then Goody came out all guns blazing.

Spent all our cookies on Lever and May.

To allow Goody to keep on blazing. Genius.

So satisfying.

V happy with hunts game tonight

Shut Tippa down and stopped a lot of fwd thrusts

His best game this season. Was very important tonight.

As you say shut tippa down, but also ran off him at every chance

I found it hilarious that when the tv panned to essendon fans, it looked like their brain and their mouth just wouldn't cooperate. They wanted to hurl abuse but didnt even know what to say. ? ?

Young Kozzie needs to be told that every time he touches the ball it doesn’t need to be a highlights reel play. Sometimes just doing the simple things gets the job done.

Once again, far too many hit and hope/Hollywood handballs from players when laying the boot into the ball is a better option.

Essendon were fantastic tonight. So tough to penetrate their forward line, but we got it done. Tough win. I hope this makes the club realise that wins aren’t going to just come. We have to work hard for them and we did.

If we make the grand final, I hope the game is not like this. My dad’s heart can’t take it

Not very smart are they?

Loved booing their team off the ground. Hope Stringer felt at home being told off for being a [censored].

Second half started spotting up forwards. Makes a big difference. Need to convert the opportunities. TMAc, Fritta, Spargo, Jacko, etc.

Jayden Hunt killed Tippa.

Leaders lifted in the third.

Viney was quiet but should be better for the run.

Liked Jordon's defensive efforts.
