Undefeated and on top of the ladder, but there's very little excitement on demonland.  Have we all been so deeply scarred that we're expecting this bubble to burst in a spectacular way?

Edited by one_demon

For me it is just knowing there is a looooooooong way to go.

The Tigers are still the team to beat and by a fair way in my mind and they showed why last weekend.

We just have to keep performing consistently to hopefully get a top 4 and then give ourselves a crack at the flag.

It’s not like it hasn’t happened in the past. Most Deez fans (IMO) won’t allow themselves to even think about daring to dream coz that leaves us open to bitter disappointment should the “bubble burst.”

Unfamiliar territory and my family and I are just enjoying the ambiance, just want it to continue on and on and on.....!!!!!!!

Go Dee’s....!!!!!!

Yes.

One week at a time. beat the Swans this weekend and then we can re-assess and decide to just worry about the next week

Have you never heard of MFCSS? Only known cure is a flag.

A long way to go however if you asked me at the start if we would be 7 Zip I would have committed you to the looney bin. Take the 7/Zip and hopefully move on. Just hope when we do lose a game that we bounce back the next week. With this start I am looking for a top 2 finish and home finals.

Beaten by the dogs in the first two quarters. The dogs drank from the bath and Richmond played a good 3rd quarter. One, maybe two quarters is not really drum beating.

Maybe when they are at full strength, their mojo may come back. At the moment they are middle of the road and have to fight hard for wins. The Dogs got found out. Mental weakness, which we aren't showing this year.

We are playing for the 120 minutes (North aberration), unlike other years, when we relied on a couple of good spurts.

Hope that they are perceived as the team to emulate and beat. We can fly under the radar. Though they would all love us to drop a game and then falter. I can't see us doing a mid-season collapse

We are looking good. Doing well, converting the inside 50's to scores and with the stats that are important this season.

We are hard to beat.

Keep rolling along Dees.

Deeply scarred? Nah.....

I'm deeply scarred and deeply scared. With good reason !!!

Just taking a deep breath here. We had a scare against a lowly team, we now have a couple of important injuries, and there’s a long way to go yet. There’s bound to be a few bumps and blips on the road to come.

I’m really enjoying footy at the moment, but I’ll be burnt out by the end of the year if I stay excited the whole time.

Main thing is to accumulate the 15/16 wins necessary to get top 4. It's a long year and we're not even a third of the way through.

7 and 0 is better than any other alternative. Not excited yet but cautiously optimistic. Sat through enough hidings to at least walk around with a smile right now

Yes.

I think the Tomlinson and Viney injury coupled with the first half against North put the lid back on in my eyes.

We will win every game this year. I couldnt be more positive about our magnificent team.

Is that better?

Yeah, disaster is never far off. Next few weeks will see some retooling which may not leave us with the best product. Head down, bum up, and we'll see how we go.......

A bit of sarcasm puts strains on my enthusiasm.

If you cannot enjoy football when you are 7 zip   when the hell can you.  Accept that's what we have and enjoy it   Long may it last.

In the terms of the old joke,    how can you drink whiskey when you are dead ?    Drink it  now !    not with bathwater though,

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
