The Casey match is definitely not on here in Canberra.  Please keep the updates coming for those of us who are 'out of the loop'.  Thanks in advance folks!

I rreally wonder what the side is. Had a look earlier at Casey and vfl but nothing.

I also just looked and can't find anything. Go to VFL website and look at fixture/results, hoping to see selected teams and I come up with the AFL stuff. Nothing on Casey's/MFC website either. This is ordinary to say the least. How in the hell can you support a VFL team when you get nothing.

Try downloading the 7plus app and when setting up, enter your post code as a Melbourne code and don’t allow the app to auto detect your location. That should get you the Melbourne programming.

A good team. 13 senior players.

Will be Good to see how Baker and the Rosman go on the wings

I reckon we need to draft in some mids. We seem to be lacking depth in our reserves

Be nice if they broadcast the VFL game in the MCC Long Room and Members Dining. ?

our vfl game will be on kayo 'freebies' which is the foxtel way of getting you familiar with the platform so they can drive toward subs

hmmm, the Casey match seems to have disappeared from the list of freebies for today.  Could it be because it is on free to air in Melb?

This works, though you may have to delete and uninstall app, though if I remember correctly I didn’t even do that, just went through settings

14- D. Smith is Deakyn Smith who was added to our list along with Majak Daw in the Supplemental Drft.

Does anyone know if they allow dogs in at Box Hill?

Thanks W-J. Good team on paper. Let's get 2 wins today

Anyone know what’s the go with Laurie? Not listed as playing. Injured? Too far off the mark?

Yes i guess i was asking for that or similar response DD

Interesting to see Daw being named at full back.  A fairly obvious and prudent move given the riches of talent in the Casey forward line, but also be good to see if he can reconfigure to playing with a defensive mindset in case we need more cover for May.

Understand that Daw has played well in defense before for North, so I'd be fairly confident he could get the job done.  Quite happy to be getting senior games into Petty and hope he steps up and gets the job done for us in the seniors such that Daw isn't required, but it's alway good to have solid depth options.

Similarly, it would be nice to see Daw given another go at AFL level at some point, because from all reports it sounds like he's approaching his involvement with the MFC with the right attitude and has some ability and weapons of his own to bring to the table at some point.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
