for me it was Gawn / Langdon / Pickett... Kossie's goals kept us in it.

Once again, we should have won by a lot more. But again I'll take it.

We'll need to be a hell of a lot cleaner at the G next week,..and if we win that?   I WILL BELIEVE  ❤️ ?

Hunt ?

With the way we are playing there is no way teams like Sydney and the Bulldogs will beat us.

WAT ?

We’re coming off 2 terrible seasons & we win our first 3 games by double digits each time & you’ve got people on this forum complaining lol

We left 50pt on the table, but seriously no one was bad, occasional errors by a very disciplined and well drilled team. ANB and lesser lights did many good things.

Bloody hell the afl app sucks. Cant listen to radio post game and stations still blocked because all calls are via afl live

Hunt ?

I had him in at 4th best ?

Every game is tough and you bank your wins, but do we always have to win ugly.

Always good to win but we so need Brown or Weed back. TMac not suited by conditions but he just won’t cut it. Also Jetta big question marks

nev was gone a year ago, we need to be getting games into his replacement

First time we win our first three since 2005 and people want to winger. Should have won by 100 blah, blah, blah

Many positives but really happy with Jackson. Also Hunt went to another level and much better from Gus.
T Mac looked a broken man at games end.

Kozzie - just wow !!!!!

How exciting this bloke is.

Love the way he practically dances around opponents. Will do more for footy than eddies resignation.

It was tough but a win.

Maxi after the game hahaha “ekelon” instead of echelon. “We’re in the top ekelon...”

Agreed. But the way I see it, a tough game that results in a 34 point win is fairly impressive whichever way you look at it.

You take an interstate win any day of the week, regardless of the oppos injuries.

After Nev retires im also going to be happy to have Kossie as my new fave Dee.

Thats a replay i can watch.

Going ok

I think we're getting a picture that our opponents from the first 3 may not be finals contenders. But 3-0 = happy days.  We are in the picture and yet to hit our strides. A key fwd or 2 back in the line up and keep playing how we are and lookout. This year could go places

Wins are wins. Tough Oppo coming up now though

Yep. We have hit some teams at good times.

Brayshaw, Viney, Oliver and Kossie all with problematic preseasons. We have been able to get them through the first few games and get a bit of fitness into them. Will be a real test next week.

I think we are much better this year. The balance of players is better at the foot of the ball. We’ve got some X factor in Kozzie and Trac, some in and under with Oliver and Viney, some outside pace with Hunt and Langdon, and Salem behind the ball with impeccable foot skills. It doesn’t have to be 100% manic anymore. It feels much more composed and controlled.

I also think our back line has given us the confidence to maintain our shape around the ball more, even if we lose a few contests in a row. There’s more trust.

Nobody will talk about Jackson given Kosi's genius, but seriously how good is he? Some of his pickups were akin to Pendlebury in his prime not a ruckman in his second year. Going to be very very good and allows us to use Gawn as we please.

Wow. You are a sad individual.

Sad?....more like realistic. Have you been following this team for long? After what transpired tonight the players would of been better off not singing the song and discussed what could of quite easily been a loss. We got lucky with so many injuries to the Giants, still some repetitive areas of concern for us at the moment. It’s a long season, they’ll be plenty of other opportunities to sing the song. As I said, many won’t agree.

How good is Langdon would be just about the top winger in the comp at the moment....never stops running

Kozzie!!!!!!!

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
