Happy with this. We need a second mature ruck. We need key defensive depth. And with the injuries we might need forward depth. Majak can do all 3 at once.

The only problem is they don’t have a lot of time to assess his body unless they’ve had this on the cards for a while. There’s a chance his body just isn’t what it was after his severe injuries so they need to thoroughly investigate that if he’s to get a list spot.Ā

We certainly need big man depth. Daw is an all rounder, can ruck, can play down back, can play fwd. I think its an ok play.

Don't mind this at all.

At least we know fitness would never be an issue... ?

I know it was years ago but an AFL player that once kicked 6.4.40 and receivedĀ the 3 Brownlow votes in a game of footy warrants consideration.

There was also a game in 2018 at the MCG against us when he was marking every thing that was coming his way in defence.

I’d have a look at him provided he doesn’t spend the entire season in the medicalĀ room.

He would have plenty of company BBP.

Don’t mind this.

Anyone know who he’s been training with up til now? Ā Hopefully he’s already got a decent preseason under his belt.

Ā

good luck Majak...

not as much upside perhaps as HB but I'm always happy to have a feel good experiment.

Hopefully it works out all round

Ā

Gets a chance to show he is worth a spot at little cost to the Dees. Ā A good SPP choice.

I believe he signed at North Heidelberg under Brent Harvey and has been doing a pre season there.

Well, that was quick. The Herald Sun is running a story by Rebecca Williams dated todayĀ headed ā€œLocal Footy: Ex-AFL stars set to play local footy in 2021ā€

ā€œWHERE ARE THEY NOW?

MAJAK DAW

The former Kangaroo has found a new football home in the northern suburbs where he will play alongside a North Melbourne great. Daw has signed with division one Northern Football League side North Heidelberg for the next two seasons. The 29-year-old will link up with former teammate and AFL games record holder Brent Harvey and will also play alongside his brother, Anthony. Daw was delisted at the end of last season after 54 games for the Kangaroos. He made an inspirational return to the game in Round 9 last year after recovering from a fall from the Bolte Bridge. ā€œWe view the arrival of Majak as a big plus for the club as we look to consolidate in Division 1 of the NFNL after our third position finish in season 2019,ā€ the club said.ā€

At least Majak will feel at home with the Demons at Casey Fields. If I remember correctly, he might have played a game with some of them in a composite team for players who didn’t make their AFL teams last year while in the Sunshine Coast hub.Ā

Remember watching this game and thinking what a fantastic forward performance.Ā

  • Demonland changed the title to Majak Daw Invited to Train

Versatile mature depth player who could ruck if Max gets an injury - I like it.

With B.Brown and Weid out, Jackson and TMac have become 1st choice KPFs and have weakened ruck depth.Ā  Daw addresses this.

I seem to remember the same thing, WJ.Ā  In fact, think that pic of him in the MFC article in a Dees Jumper is from that match.

Also wonder if Ben Brown had any influence in having the Dees consider him?

With Hore on the LT injury list we have 3 rookie list spots available.Ā  Room for Majak, Farmer and our NGA player (whose name I have sadly forgotten).

Offers ruck, defensive and forward cover. If there’s a better option out there I can’t think of it.

Don't mind it.

Bizarre move.Ā

Why is it Bizarre? We have just had 2 big forwards go down as well as Marty Hore for the season

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven MayĀ

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
