I want Weed to dominate in the 2's. I want to hear he's at least kicking 3-4+ a game. His form has been down for too long 

 

With games against Hawthorn, Richmond, North, Sydney & Carlton coming up who takes the forwards from those clubs?

Poor guy.  My vote is for Petty

All things considered a month is a lot less than most expected. We have a favourable draw whilst he’s unavailable.

Eye injuries heal very quickly with the right medication ? and rest. 
i hope he can be back at the Club helping the Backline at Training and Matchdays soon. 
this will test our depth, but that can be a good thing. 
Tomlinson was magnificent yesterday. 
played Mayzies’s role perfectly 

Can live with that.  Thanks to the emergence of Luke Jackson we have the luxury of sending Gawn into the backline for periods to mark everything which should see us in good stead while May is out.

well actually the call for the injury is not a month but up to a month so hopefully that translates into only 2 or 3 weeks .

Can't see him getting up in 2, we play norf in 3 which I'm not sure they will risk him unless he is 100 ready to go. My guess is 4.

Ouch.  Won't be showing that to the loved one or any and all future children will be barred from playing.

This is a big test for the team and I am glad we managed so well without him in the second half against Geelong. Lever was visibly fired up with the urgency of getting things organised and demanding no silly slips.

It is also things like this that make getting that good early start (Four from four! Always fun to say!) so important.

Huge relief that, ugly as it is, it is only expected to be a short period out.

Hibberd in would be my choice because he has maturity, the good kick, and the intercept awareness to best fit our overall plan.

He played his best footy in that role and I reckon he could be a wildcard at some stage of the season

I hope his natural sleeping position isn’t on his right hand side, that’d be bloody uncomfortable.

In the preseason, I didn’t know how we would kick a goal without BBB and the Weid. I’m more comfortable now we can cover for Maysie out of the backline for 4 weeks, in part because our midfield/defensive forward pressure is so good and in part that we’re a better team than I gave us credit for.

We looked very organized yesterday after he left the field - no doubt due to Lever's influence.  They are an experienced unit - Jetta, Tomlinson, Salem, Lever, Hunt. Rivers is the only real rookie.  I think they pick for the opponent.  Could probably get away with Hibberd in the short term who can play bigger than he is, and is also mobile enough for the middle sized forwards that Hawthorn and Richmond both have. I'm not opposed to seeing Petty get a go either.

Reset yourself, come back strong, get that All Australian reward, and lead our backline to September.

Feel the same about Daw. Just feel he’s going to have some important role to play at some stage. I know you can’t pick and choose full backs for different opposition, but against Lynch or McKay ie the monster forwards,  he’d be my go to over Petty.

I hope your right. But AA defenders don't grow on trees.

A team positive about yesterday was the way the defence transitioned withour May, no panicking with Tomlinson straight back to Hawkins and the courageous filling in the hole role Brayshaw played with such maturity.

Never mind Lever's superb intercepts and leadership.

Another good sign from the coaching team and players to cover the threat.

Seems odd they would say he had an eye socket fracture but only up to a month out.

Must be 4 atleast. Looks like he walked into the path of a Mack truck.
