I can see the Pies asking harder questions about Weideman now that we have Brown.

Not Trac.

And, perhaps, we should consider their offer; the reason? I doubt whether the Weed will show much improvement. It could have been expected that he'd be a better, more complete player by now. He just ain't. Patience is a virtue, at the end of the day ... but time waits for no KPF known in footy.

If the Filth are as sentimental as they project, then surely there could be a considerable offer for the Weed with his heritage?

His purple patch this year came when Jackson was sharing some of the load. Once LJ was injured he had no help and his form dropped away. Let’s see how he goes in 2021 when BB takes the best defender. I’ve reservations as well but I think his output will improve with BB on aboard.

Agreed. Weideman had 2-3 opponents on him full time once LJ was injured

It wasn’t hard to see why his output dropped off

Family are big pies supporters, & he grew up one. Not that that means anything.

How many AFL players end up playing for the club they followed when they were boys? Very few I suspect. The draft doesn’t work that way and the kids know and accept the situation! (Christian Salem and family were all keen Essendon supporters but they all support Melbourne now)!

It won't.

It never worked that way, zones often had kid living in areas that where not in their teams zone, David parkin was a demon cheer squad member

Are they already there?

Listen champ, to even SUGGEST one of the comps premier players has committed to COLLINGWOOD 2yrs out from when he is out of contract, is loopy as hell!!!

But to act like it’s some sort of moral, is downright moronic.

CP is a demon and is preparing for a massive year for club and self, anything else is nothing more than scuttlebutt

Last time I heard, Trac’s family still go for the Pies?

Did I say he had committed to the pies did I? Can you actually show this direct quote? You're the only [censored] that mentioned anything remotely of Petracca leaving. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.

Go back and actually read what I was replying to. It actually had nothing to do with Petracca at all but more so that Collingwood will continue to bring in players regardless of what went on during the trade period.

You embarrassed yourself over the trade period when you threw several darts but didn't land any and now you're embarrassing yourself with this post.

Life was so less stressful when we were completely rubbish and nobody tried to poach our players through free agency ??‍♂️

Jesus I saw this thread had popped up and was on 4 pages already, I was sure that there was going to be an article at the top and some substantial information. Instead it’s barely a gut feeling!

If we’re successful next year then I doubt Trac is going anywhere, and even if we’re mediocre he actually strikes me as someone that genuinely just loves playing with his teammates.

And the pies may have a natural power about them but the way they’ve treated Treloar may well cost them in the future.

I'm sure there's someone smarter and funnier than me who can turn this into a gag about Mason Cox and his 2nd amendment rights.

An Englishman, an Irishman, the Pope, and Eddie McGuire walk into a bar.

On the counter is a huge stuffed polar bear.

The Englishman says, I say, barman. Did you know there's a huge stuffed polar bear on the counter?

The Irishman says, Begorrah. That little turncoat lied to me. Him and his dorty fadder.

The Pope says, Petracca, he a good-a Catholic-a boy. He no-a go to the *hack-ptuih* Mag-a-pies.

Eddie McGuire says, anyone know any good King Kong jokes?

The barman says, so did the last bloke who came in here and tried to use his 2nd amendment rights!

If Trac does go, after 8 years, the regret will be all his.

P. S. Will his idol, Buckley, even be there? Think about it Trac.

Agree. They have shown themselves to be untrustworthy and players and managers will think twice before dealing with them after seeing how Treloar and Stephenson were treated. With time it'll be forgotten but i don;t see them signing any Fa's over the next couple of years.

The players have memories like goldfish and might champ at the bit to play with the mighty pies, but as long as the current admin is in place, the managers will be cautious. They have memories like elephants.

With Salem l would say yes !  My reasoning was that goal he kicked against the side he and his Family supported that sealed the game from 30 metres out with around a minute to spare.  Did his Family wish that he kicked that goal ?   Was it his first game?

I will ask Christian at Family day.

Wasn't this topic already canvassed in the Rumours post apropos Hutchy?

I suppose you could say that it flew under the radar.

12 months ago this thread could have been called Petracca into pies.

Get a life, pal. Purvey as much [censored] as you do, you're bound to get some thrown back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front.  They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
