Just saw that Matt Parker has been pushed out of the Saints. A dangerous forward with freakish talent, who is on the inconsistent side. Still young. Is he worth a punt??? It’d be a cheap pickup and we are still in need of a small forward and a Hannan replacement

last year’s highlights package:-

Has something happened here? Thought he looked good in his first year but then totally dropped off the map this year.

Having watched his highlights, one thing I like about him is the aggression he shows. He genuinely loves tackling blokes and knows how to get the shoulder low and drive the tackle. He should be on our radar. He and Kozzy would be a deadly little combo

Just another 10 disposal player who won't make a shred of distance to our team.  You don't see him for three quarters then he'll have a purple patch for 10 minutes.

He's not what I'd call a quality role player who'll improve you.

Surprised by this. Not a definite yes but not a definite no either. He can play. It’s about the scope for improvement.

What about a certain maybe, or a probable possibility.

Could he be the small, quick forward?

Has a bit of height and aerial ability that makes him more like Hannan and separates him from the small smalls we've got.

Wouldn't be rushing to sign him but he's not the worst.

The Saints are loading up with midfielders and probably trying to get Billings and Gresham through the forward line more. Maybe with Jack Higgins too. With or without Lonie. That puts a squeeze on their list spots.

Another I'd consider is Billy Gowers from the Dogs.

Kicked 26 goals in 2018 in a team that struggled.

Not saying he's a game changer, but we should look at these delisted free agents for depth in areas we lack it.

Have you seen him play recently? Could be the worst footballer in the AFL. Genuine space cadet.

absolutely not, the ferret is not the answer

I wouldn't go near him. there is a reason a team desperately trying to recruit players with speed and X-Factor has delisted a player with both of those things

He did look good a year back. Well worth a look, but obviously that includes due diligence on why he got the [censored] from St Kilda in the first place.

Are the Saints desperately looking for speed and X factor?

They bought in Hill and Butler last year to go with Billings, Gresham and co but this year they’ve recruited Brad Crouch to thicken the soup. They might be stuck with Lonie and Kent. Clearly they have interest in Higgins but speed is just a part of his game to go with class

They might’ve decided Butler, Kent and Lonie/Higgins is enough. Can we say the same about Pickett, Spargo and Bedford or are we better off to keep searching?

You would think Richardson has some idea here.... then again.

I agree. I think there are some issues here as to why the Saints decides to delist. It’s a no no call

He would be behind Brown, Weid, Jackson and Fritsch.  I'd even have Petty there ahead of him.

He isn't changing anything at the club for us.  Pass.

Reckon if we wait 12 months a couple of reasonable HF smaller types may be delisted by Ssints in 2031 end of season.

thinking Billing's Lonie a chance oh and Kent !!! Please NO.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
