Either way it does not matter. Plays well well once in every 5 games.

He has had his injury worries. I reckon in a good side he would do well.

Id prefer to keep him. Has speed, can mark, good pressure and can kick straight.

When he’s at his best he is super zippy and a good pressure player too. Unfortunately when he drops away he loses the defensive part of his game as well as the attack

You could be describing half our players from the last 20 years...

He looked destined to be a terrific player for us after a great 2018 season but, like others, injuries and some really poor form have held him back.

If we go after and get someone like Brown, I don't think there is a spot for him in our side.  So if he decides to seek further opportunities then I'd say good luck to him.

I like Mitch and that goal he kicked against Geelong in the final will live long in the memory.

I think we need to renew through our half forward-wing line on our list though. If the Doggies are keen, good luck to all involved.

To me he seems like a VFL player who outperforms on occasion. May just not have the talent week in week out to comfortably stay at the top level.

Has the right skills and attributes, but just goes missing for too long in games.

Yep. Simply does nor get enough of rhe ball. Which wouldn't be such an issue if he was averaging a couple of goals a game. But gets not.

Offer him and Hunt for picks,  which we should chuck at Collingwood for Phillips, who should be top priority. Close second being Brown/Cameron/Hogan/Mihochek.

We don't need Hannan and Hunt.  We have Melksham, Fritcsh, Smith, Vanders, Harmes who can play that role.

Get him to where he wants to go. I would not re-sign him. He will not suddenly become a consistent best 22 player. We have too many of similar type and he does not offer positional flexibility.

At his best he is very good. But spends far too much time being invisible.

weid Jacko picket fritta melky avb petracca (brown if we end up with him) all in front of him in the forward line pecking order. Then there’s hunt and spargo not too far behind him.

if there is value in the trade then yep let him go

I'd say our pressure forwards rank:

Pickett, Spargo (strong end to season), Hannan, ANB, Hunt, Bedford/Chandler.

The aim should be to only have 2 of them in the side and get more pressure out of rotating mids, medium and talls but that hasn't been a strong point. Generally we've needed 3 strong pressure guys to play the game on our terms.

Even though they are flaky the likes of Hannan and Hunt are important as they are the only two with any size. So Hannan probably is more important than some think and could easily be like Kent at St Kilda if not better where he gets a game any time he's fit and we wonder why we didn't keep him. But also like Kent I guess the issue isn't so much letting him go but failing to find a better and more consistent replacement.

Agree, although I dont rate Hannan or Hunt as pressure fwds.

Kossie is a lock with Wied and fingers crossed a Ben Brown or the likes of, Frictsh and im guessing LJ. Which leaves one spot which needs to be a rotating mid. Trac, Oliver, viney, harmes, bray

There's at least one *more spot for a pressure player even including using the rotating mids. Hannan at his best is perfect for it and his pressure was great at the start of this year, then it just disappeared. Hunt's never been a great tackler or pressure player that's for sure.

We certainly need to find at least 180+  and ideally more flanker sized mid/forward types.

Bit like Dean Kent, i don't think i'd be confident giving him much more than another 1 year, so if he can get more security elsewhere all the best to him, he has been a good servant of the club during his time.

Has shown all of the skill-attributes, on occasion, but never consistently (injuries considered). My concern is the serious drop-off of Melksham - love Goodwin but can't comprehend his faith in Jake - and Hannan is the most natural heir to Melksham should that finally go sour. We feel loaded for HFFs, but not in reality when you think about it. Any pick above 30 and I would keep.

to think we had all of them (bar pickett) + Stretch, JKH and vanders (as a forward) on the list last year and got doughnuts out of them all. we really need to find some proper class down there and shrink this rotating spud paddock to 2 elite players and 2 developing and this season we had Bennell & Cagner too, they have to cut another 3 and then its still questionable for talent

Hannan has still something to offer the club. He chases hard and can run and mark well with sure hands a height of 190cm and is talented.  His kicking is far better than most and doesn't butcher the ball.  He had his injuries the previous year and managed only a handful of games.

This 2020 season is  out of the  ordinary and hope that we have some normality in 2021 and play games at the G in front of crowds.  A strong pre season from Hannan  might be the trick. He is well worth  persevering with.

Hannan was injured for much of 2019.  Then this year he, like many other small and mid fwds, was disadvantaged by the lack of a VFL league to gain some form and consistency.  It was a revolving door in the fwd line.  Hannan is better than his 2020 form.

I am a fan of Mitch but if we Think  he can't Offer more ie improve in 2021 then let him go.

Maybe look at a trade of a player from the Dogs like Trengove or Schacke or even AhChee. All have greater potential ( and Could be are a level above Mitch's best ) therefore a 3 Rd or 4 th rounder might be necessary to get a deal done .

Just think that our Player bottom no's 15/30  this year were so disappointing ( and of course they did it tough With no real games ie VFL) but we have no tome to waste with players that aren't going to improve us.

Mitch's fitness is a bit of a query ( as would Ah Chee's be also) But let's look at next opportunity to switch a couple of deck chairs Ie nothing ventured nothing gained!

Also in this idea should be the same with Pruess  don't give him away value a player from GWS if we think we can use him in the trade negotiations Yhey need a ruck more than we need a Flanker or FP or winger etc.

I wasn't suggesting we don't trade him, commenting more on folks saying his form has been poor and inconsistent.  There was good reason for that which is easy for folks to overlook.

In his favour (imv) he is far better than ANB, AvB plays injured and one wonders how long he can keep that up and on par with or slightly more valuable than Hunt.

But if he has market value, we let him go.  Altho would much rather let ANB go but I suspect there are no takers.

I'd be happy to delist Hannan, so if anybody wants to take him for a pick under 100, good luck to them.

Clearly has ability, but doesn't work hard enough and goes missing way too often.
