Back on the thread, happy to offload T Mac and O Mac for whatever we get. One has no agility and the other has no ability!

He also went to see Jordan Peterson and was a guest on an IPA podcast, in case anyone needs further proof of his terrible decision making.

Tmac's on the table = IPA ?? brilliant.

IPA sounds a bit like the (alleged) “good stuff” that Hird allowed his charges to have administered.

Is he definitely on the table or conditionally on the table?

Has the club anywhere explained what the problem was with him during the season 2020

As one of our 3or4 highest  paid players I would have thought some one for the club would have commented on his drop in performance

His issues started some time in 2019.  I remember sitting in the stands watching him try and bend down to pick up a ball and I thought I had better flexibility  in my back than him and I am 60 with a stiff back !...

Ooowee, a few too many IPAs last night that's for sure. I'm a sucker for Hop Nation J-juice.

It's not my fault though, just like it a lot.

From what I can recall his issues started in 2017. Missed the first five rounds of 2018, with a foot and/or toe problem which carried over to the next pre-season. Remember the rumours and footage of him with his boots or shoes off, both at training and in social settings? I can't recall exactly if it was both his foot and toe? Nevertheless, then throw in a knee injury as well. His lower body is shot, which means even less agility than the limited amount he had to begin with. Then add a lack of confidence. Done.

The chance about his body size and conditioning is an interesting one, it would be curious to know who thought it was the best way to go; club, player, or both.

Tom’s biggest weapon in 2018 (and yes it’s now at a point where it’s hard to use that as an argument for a rapid regeneration) was that he was so mobile. He would do a massive body of work further up the ground and beat his opponent in fitness over body strength. And for that matter his contested marking was still pretty decent.

I do think Tom will be gone by the end of the trade period, particularly if we are to get Brown. It’ll be sad because his decline has been a very rapid and disappointing one.

If he goes to GWS and is able to get his body right I actually think he could turn it around.

Just a question:  What if we retain him and play him at CFB - his old stomping ground... But of course get rid of O Mc...

The IPA isnt a political side, it is Gina Rinehart and a small group of friends lobbying for their own gain. It promotes climate change denialism and lobbies to make insulting someone based on their race legal.

If TMac has decided the IPA is on his, or anyone elses side, then it's a poor decision.

I'm well aware of what the IPA is and what they wish to manifest, and I'm not going to argue what is and what is not an ideology.

The comment also made reference to Jordan Peterson, which does touch upon ideology.

This is making commentary about the merits of Tom McDonald, the footballer, by making reference to events which he is more than welcome to attend, which have no bearing on him as a footballer, and I would say, have no bearing on his character.

I thought DL had a policy of no politics.

No reply necessary.

I like the idea as back -up, but i think the problem from the start has been his salary. We can't afford to have a back-up backman earning top 5-10 salary at the club. Especially if we bring in Brown which will require the $$ that Tmac is tying up (which sounds like we will). So it's a hard decision, as he could regain form in future and burn us (front bar rocka brothers and jaffles anyone hahaha) OR maybe he will fade to nothing at another team. Either way i think we just need his salary off the books to get the deals done we want (plus i think Oliver money for a new contract can't be hurt with Tmac off to another club)..

Sadly that pretty much sums it up, unless we would be able to renegotiate Tom to a lower salary the bigger issue is freeing up space on the salary cap to be able to afford Brown now and retain Oliver and others later.

We got a little unlucky in that TMac and Harmes both had their best years just when they were coming out of contract. We secured them to pretty top coin and expected they’d continue to perform, unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.

I would put TMAC back to CHB after getting him fit, and brining brown up front.  OMac surplus to needs.

Goal to Goal line of May, TMAC MAX, Weidemann, Brown.  Would almost be the best in the business.

they should have tried this mid season when omac was crap and tomlinson wasnt in the side, they missed a chance and now they just have to offload him, time to move on

Maybe fair, but would you want T Mac as a defender on 700k a year with Frost-esque decision making? I wouldn't.

Wouldn't give him away for nothing, give him a preseason shadowing May and make him you're second tall defender. All hinges on us being able to get Brown though regardless, don't know about our cap situation.

Like MFC, it seems 2018 was an aberration for T Mac as well.  He had a cracker of a year and looked so good up front.  its ancient history now.  we move on

Theres a reason TMac was the whipping boy many years ago. Its because as a defender he has OMac tendancies.

if we keep TMac, we play him up forward with Brown and Weideman and pray hard to the Gods that TMac can turn it around. if anyone goes back,  push Jackson back.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
