Lockhart not even an EMG this week, would love the club to bring forward some transparency on what's happening with him.

Fair enough.

Is Lockhart going to be delisted? Can't get a game, can't even get a spot in the emergencies, was beaten to the small defender spot by Jetta who, though we all love him, was not in form when selected, got dropped out of nowhere.

Looks like the end of an era with Jones and Jetts on the way out sadly.

Positive change with Hibbs run and skills.

Re Lockhart

You have to wonder if the smiling after errors and turnovers turned Goodwin off?  Probably reading into it too.much. Perhaps just boils down to the repetition of some costly decision making. Hope he is playing next year. Has great potential.

No Jacko. If we need to gain 50+ points on the Saints we better be hoping GWS make up the lions share of them as I can't see us doing it tbh.

Gotta love the media. Headline on AFL site that Dons Wield The Axe. Actually 3 ordinary players out and 3 good players back. They are much stronger than last game. Hardly wielding the axe.

Smith: 191

May:193

Lever:195

Hibbo:186

Rivers:188

Tomlinson: 194

Avg: 191.2

Essendon have 3 forwards under 185cm

all they have to do is let the ball bounce in their forward 50 and we're royally f'ed in the a**

We could use a Baker's dozen.

Really?

Rivers, Hibberd and Salem are more than handy at ground level, while May is no slouch either.  Seems like a strange argument.

On Lockhart - strange how much love he is now getting, although I agree with it.

Hibberd in is the right move.

Hibberd  is a good in  that will steady the back line.

Jetta a bit stiff thought Smith would get axed. Hibberd is a good in can't complain about that.

Hurley back in.... guh that is not ideal for our shaky talls.

Wasnt Redman taken with one of the picks we gave up for Melky? He’s looks a decent player.

hibbo had 3 kicked on him by walters and everyone was saying hes not small enough for the slippery little blokes then nev had 3 kicked on him by daniel last week who basically hadnt kicked a goal all season until then and now tippa is gonna run riot pretty much unopposed. u should be more worried

I wouild have Jackson and Sparrow in the side with ANB and Brown out.

Smith can play small

That's the folly of selection.

One week we dissect a team like Saints and GWS within an inch of their life and have excellent results and look organised and committed to a plan

Then it appears as though no planning has been done in at all and recognition of Swans Freo and Bombers different lists and smalls. PS Remember Daniels and Bombers smalls 18 mths ago on the MCG!  Twenty (20) goals !!!

Jetta was not the one to play it's Lockhart to mind Tippa.!!!

I would've left Spargo out ... quit while we're ahead

Otherwise happy with just the one change, Nev looked spent

How could Nev be fit enough or fast enough for this challenge ???

Simple reason people are asking why Lockhart   Isn’t playing is we don’t have a small lockdown defender!

if tipinwoodi kicks 3-4

walters vs Freo unmarked for easy goals

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
