Whilst I think AVB has shown genuine concern and represented both himself and the club beautifully, the collective response from Collingwood has been equally first class - firstly Mihocek's parents and now this from both Adams and Bucks.

Rare example of the game looking after itself.

Really enjoying this thread.  Seeing a different side of one of my favorite players makes me love him even more!

Haha. AVB knocks a bloke out and then starts making moves on his girlfriend. Old-school legend.

Well after all he is a mounting man.

One picture tells a thousand words Binman.?

AVB toughness and class personified. ??

True Gentleman.

Yes Oldfart, I noticed you have been an ardent supporter all along and have never had him out of your side.

IMHO we have to improve a hell of a lot before AVB is not an automatic selection.

AvB I feel the same way football wise as I remembered Paul Wheatley. Totally different player although I reckon we looked a different side when he was playing. His running and kicking penetration made us dangerous and a better football side. Aaron's the same, better when he's in. Also felt the same way with Dean Kent.

Seducing her with wine and love letters. Can he be any cooler?

I mean replace the letters with cheese and it's basically my idea of true love.

A genuinely good person. A rarity these days. Love him.

With apologies to Viney Snr and Rod Grinter AVB is the only Demon who could have taken on and help his own physically with the likes of Dipper and Derrmie. Wish he was around in 87-88

Neita says hi :)

VDB  is a credit to his Family  a true champion person   . It would have been an accident with him but only has eyes for the ball.

He cleaned him up  but it was in the play and unintentional however wasn't claiming the scalp he was concerned about Mihocek's

well - being. That is what you call a classy caring person.

As a matter of interest, did the MRO make any comment on the incident?

As a matter of course, I think the MRO (or someone working for him) should look at every incident which causes a concussion. There are two reasons to do so. One is that the AFL should be looking at all instances of concussion to see what happened and whether any changes are needed to game rules, umpiring, game style, instructions to clubs, etc to protect players. Secondly, if they looked at every incident, there would be no accusations of players being unfairly treated should some incidents be looked at and others not. In this instance, I would be in doubt that vandenBerg would be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Even then, it looked as if most of the damage was done when his head hit the ground.

Taylor Adams is a good bloke too.

So cheese and a bit of plonk will win your heart Jaded ??

I tried it with Ben Ean Moselle and a bit of cheddar and it didn't work !!!

He’s the sort of guy you’d want your daughter to marry. Not that any guy is going to go anywhere near my daughters.

I get real blockhead vibes from Adams during games, but this has made me reconsider.

Going to bed with Vanders is a frightening prospect. Get crunched in a hug and then he probably misses the intended 'target'.

Thats a shame, we need more father/sons in red n blue

Close friend of my niece's husband.

He's definitely a competitor on the field.

great player too

This better not impact his presence on the footy field..... at present (yep went there) his presence scares the living [censored] out of any nearby opponents - would hate for that impact to be reduced as they now see him as a nice bloke instead

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
