Very great game. Not giving them one unanswered goal. Very proud of my boys. Glad we didn’t risk Gawn now.

Have to say great quarter. Took everything Collingwood had to throw at us and responded each time. Still a few players that can lift but I'll take this.

Langdon really exploiting Phillips' lack of defensive game. Has been terrific.

Langdon is just as damaging as Sidebottom, albeit with a different influence. Sidebottom is a score involvement king and Langdon is a transition king.

Interesting to see how we come out in the third.

What a pick up Langdon has been.  He is everything we hoped he would be.

Geez, 3 weeks ago we couldn't buy a goal. Didn't even know where they were. But here we are against more formidable opponents (at least compared to the Roos and Adelaide), and we're direct, creative, energetic, and relentless in our own 50. Heck, even Tom Mc is taking grabs and looking like a target of sorts.

Much better structure, energy and focus.

Great half of footy. More, please!

Umpiring is awful again, but this time we're getting the rub of the green a bit (the free to Viney was correct though, that's not a slide below the knees, that's someone going for the ball harder than his opponent).

This is not how I expected this game to play out at all. We do well to kick 10 goals in a normal game but to put 10 on the board against a top 8 side which happens to have the second best defence in the comp (albeit missing Howe and Roughead) is a strong effort.

First quarter I felt we should have been further in front. That quarter, oddly, I felt like we didn't play well enough to extend our lead by 3 goals. We're obviously doing incredibly well inside 50 but we're losing clearances and inside 50s are level at 20 apiece. Collingwood look dangerous when Adams, Pendlebury or Sidebottom get near it.

32 points is a really impressive buffer and we look good, but I'm still very much concerned about whether we can keep this up.

Loved Spargo's quarter. Oliver is dominating. Petracca does a lot right but is making mistakes. TMac worked his way back into it. Weideman keeps competing, really important for our structure.

That last goal... Clarry to Tracc to Langdon...

Started that bounce with Clarry vs Pendles, Tracc vs Sidey.

Great to see our two young guns win that one with no Maxy ? ?

Pruess getting shaded in the middle but holding his own elsewhere and giving some back

Well I haven’t seen us play like that for a very long time.

I really HOPE we can keep it up in the second half and not go into our shell.

First few minutes of the 3rd will be crucial.

I can’t say I’m confident. I know it’s a big lead and they are a man down on the back of a 4 day break, but... Melbourne

Collingwood are getting most of their goals from centre clearances and hack kick forwards.

Need to ensure we compete harder in the middle and just hang off Pendlebury and Sidebottom. They are the only 2 keeping them in this.

Those 2 often rip us up.
They have class and disposal skills that we've lacked.

Need to lift in the middle, seems like we are allergic to a centre clearance.

Otherwise great half

Clearances are a major worry for me. We need to start getting on top here. Our Defence is leaky so they will eventually kick big scores if they keep winning clearances.

Good half. Forwards looking dangerous and the message appears to get it down there long and quick. Preuss holding his own, our mids just 2nd to the ball at the moment. Two good defensive efforts by Jones out of the wing. They haven't got us on the outside which they normally do. If we can break even in the centre we'll put these guys away pretty quickly.

Our final qtrs have been good though, and they have a number playing their first game back from injury.

All that said, I'm also not confident

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
