Oh boy. Think the club has gone early after beating up the two bottom teams. Great production values but talk about tone deaf.

If we lose to the Pies, maybe we can use all of the footage we're stockpiling to produce a six part netflix series titled "Goody's Last Dance"

Putting themselves under pressure..

interesting.

Make it work...

See, i dont mind this actually.

We have had a couple of 9 goal wins against rubbish oppo, but this keeps the heat on IMO. I get a bit more respect for Goody each time i see him getting up the team. In public he comes across as all lovey-dovey and soft, but this sort of video shows he has passion and expectations like the rest of us have.

Cant fault the video as it shows how we responded.  2 good wins after a bad loss.

If we beat the Pies, and maybe also the Dogs, this will look like a great post. If we lose both.... not so much.

At least it shows something.

Keep winning and they can post whatever the hell they like.

Count me in.

How dare the clubs media and marketing department try and put forward a positive message about the club...

While i agree we haven't achieved anything yet...

Lighten up ppl. Enjoy the ride

It wouldn’t suprise me if Pert is behind all this. He has worked in Media for many years.
The Whole approach this year has been to be bold and on the front foot.
This is most visable through Ben and his line of questions.
He is not afraid to ask the questions we want to hear.
This above Video is the same

Interesting approach, we certainly haven’t had it before.
Win the next 2 and the season opens up quite a bit

I guess they are actually keeping some of the behind the scenes footage going so I won't be shocked if we see a full fledged doco by the end of the year, though perhaps not if we don't make the 8!

As for this, maybe pumping up our own tyres a little. Might've liked to see this come out after the Pies game should we win.

It's promotion for the club and positive exposure for our sponsors.

With the world the way it is, we should enjoy any win that we can get.

Been a lot of negative comments on Goodwins lack of anger/personality/emotion and this shows some of it, I mean he is right the season right now is back on track, is it saying we are playing finals etc, but more it’s back in your hands, what will you do with it.

Like anything like this, if we win, it looks great, if we lose then he cops it even more.

Loved it.

Showed a side of Goodwin we had not seen before.

I liked the front end....not so much the back.

At least it shows something.

Keep winning and they can post whatever the hell they like.

I agree     Just keep winning !   and showing emotion or that you are invested in the result is not a bad thing....

Didn’t mind it personally, thought the opening was great and makes us feel connected as supporters while they are flying all over the country. It’s pretty much how most of us felt after the Port debacle. Season back on track is by no means job done, that was just the first step.

I agree - he wasn’t sugar coating or corporatising the situation. Neither was he stripping the walls or throwing teacups around, which some people think he should be doing. Instead he was putting it back on the playing group to rectify the situation in a logical way.

As supporters of this Club we haven’t had much to applaud over the past 50 years. Personally I’ll devour any feel good stuff they care to throw at me.

Or when we win you can serve up those words and eat them with a big dose of humble pie. But you won’t. Not many people here do. They ride and ride and ride. Players and coaches, and conveniently forget the good but amplify the bad. It’s as boring as it is dishonest

Yeah I'm ok with it, it's a short 3 min clip as opposed to a 5 week doco series. Showed a side of Goody that I think a lot of people wanted to see and are glad they did.

Goodwin swears a hell of a [censored] lot!

i'll get shot down but don't care. way unnecessary from the media dept.. clearly just to show they are doing something or what? who signs off on this [censored]? bartlett was badmouthing the team ten days before and then this.. we lose tomorrow night (and god forbid next week) and this thread comes up like fire. of course i want my team to win and to see good quality behind the scenes [censored], but jesus... the teams we beat are nudda. keep winning dees. at this stage we are still in the 64th pit of hell.

I liked it as well. Nice bit of content for fans to enjoy in this strange season. For those that don't know they've actually done 4 of these videos now starting from round 6. I would say that someone in the social media team read the room and thought fans were furious about our Port Adelaide game and held off producing the next video until they could show something in a more positive light.

Here's the other videos for those that are interested.

Round 6 vs Gold Coast

Round 7 vs Hawthorn

Round 8 vs Brisbane

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
