Thanks - notice it was just put up now.

Yeah, but the club doesn't need to rush out and report what the situation is, just so you can settle your anxiety.

bring in Preuss to do the ruck work and get him to use his strength around the ground.  I also favor brown instead of Tmac. Brown kicked a few in a practice match that still seems a lot better than what we have seen out for TMac for a long time. While he started to touch the ball he was not marked well, or consistently, he was not great at chasing and i am not sure he even won a tap out as a relief ruckman. Brown has obviously shown if we can get the ball to him he can kick the goals, i think he is a safer bet than tmac at this time.

Could we potentially bring OMac back in, play Tomlinson as main ruck, TMac to ruck in forward half and relieve?

Preuss has apparently only played 1 scratch match so not sure on match fitness.

No, please don't make that idea public! Goodwin will go for it - and we are assured of a huge, backline leakage.

Out of the games Oscar has played in this year, only the Round 1 loss to the Eagles and the Port loss feature opposition scores that were above the average this year. Not sure he was solely to blame for that in those particular games either.

The other 3 games feature opposition scores below average, 2 of which we won.

Disagree played some great games and also kicked goals

I think Play Pruessy and T Mac in tandem and maybee Weeds and Tomlinson as well

Brown could be the "Wildcard" Selection Smart around goals and could be inspired!!! A few needing a rest. Starting with Melksham and whilst I love him Harmsy has been fumbly of late!!

Pruess - Preuss - Preuss

A major detraction with Preuss last year was his fitness - he was a solid unit - rather than being tall and lanky he was just scaled up in all three dimensions.  This led to his poor mobility around the ground.  While it feels like a century ago, I was struck in the pre-season by how much leaner he looked compared to last year.  It was a shame he was hit with that injury earlier this year, but if indeed he's recovered as the practice match report would suggest, it would be interesting to see what he could produce this weekend if picked.

I do wonder how the likes of Browne find out before the club releases anything though. Surely the club has control of the information that comes out of it.

Massive blow for us. Only a matter of time before we ran Jacko into the ground.

Preuss to come in and work his b... off.

Leave nothing in the tank.

Do not panic rush  Max back

Grundy is a star but not a match winner.

Find a way to get Brown back

If Oscar comes in, Tomlinson should go into the ruck IMV. That way we keep our forward structure with Weid and McDonald.

Oscar should come in and if Tomlinson can make some sort of contest in the ruck that will be a good outcome. Oscar's defence is heart in mouth stuff. He a lot more reliable conveyance this year.

Think you've nailed it AF.

I assume it get leaked out knowingly by the club or by someone within the club. Not necessarily nefariously.

Occasionally someone on here posts injury news before it gets out publicly.

Or bring Preuss in, move Tomlinson back to the wing and omit one of Jones, Harmes or Vanders.

Remind me - what he his injury been?
If ever he was needed, this is it.  Why else was he recruited?
Do or die Braydon.

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, I'd say. If Jackson did his hamstring during the game, I reckon the club has kept that under wraps pretty well for quite a few days.

I don't trust Preuss (fitness wise), but if the club does, I'll back them until I have evidence to the contrary.

In the case of Preuss coming in, I'd keep Tomlinson back.

Pretty simple

Pruess goes to Ruck and stays till Gawn is ready

Tmac goes forward with Weid, must stay with 2 KPFs.

I wouldn't flirt to much with team structure keep a system players come in to play roles

B. Hibberd   May    Lever

HB. Rivers  Tomo   Salem

C. Langdon Oliver  AVB

HF. Melk Tmac  Fritsch

F.   Pickett  Weid   Hannan

R. Pruess, Brayshaw, Trac

IC. Viney, Sparrow, Spargo, Harmes

Sier out for them is good. Big bodied midfielder who has been good for them since he came into the side. He's a bull who would have easily gone head to head with Petracca or Oliver.

Only problem is that Pendlebury will most likely come in for him.

Yep, fair call mate. Just as we were close to finding the right mix, let's hold our nerve and play as much of the same team to keep that structure and system together.

I take it that's Viney and Preuss in for Jackson and Jones?

I'm assuming talking points get released sometimes. Journos and media can then write their pieces during working hours, and publish immediately after the press conference, instead of waiting til 4pm to start writing articles.

I also wonder of early release of info to journalists is part of a the "media deal". Jounos pay money to be accredited. In return they get leaked bits to get clicks, views, followers etc.

The problem they have with picking Pendlebury is that he might be a bit underdone coming back early from injury. The same could apply with Hoskin-Elliot. They’re also coming off a 4 day break so they need every player at the top of his game.

Ths weather could also play a big part with an expected wet track and strong winds.

Looks about right 'Pennant'...

Tommy Mac has had a reprieve, I hope he realises this and finds some form.

Unfortunately I'm not sure he has it in him any longer.

Hope I'm wrong...

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
