Bathwater poisoning, isn't it obvious

How the hell are we winning this

I’ve been a fan of Goody for a while and even defended him a lot but it’s starting to really hurt watching this horrible play, even I might start calling for his sacking

Nice one, it’s hard to know if opening a good bottle is worth it watching us play.

Just trying to meet our optimism quota here ?

Every time there is a contested ball 2 or 3 crows players wait out the back and we knock it to them

Ok

It’s our skills

We just keep giving back to the opposition tine after time. Almost comical .

its also our skills

I think tonight has proven that umpires are not the best judges.

If we don't lift and the game continues along the same lines, do we take it as a statement about the coach from the players given the messaging throughout the week?

I reckon we take it as a statement that we are just not that good. At all. In fact we’re pretty crap.

Eddie, Kingy and Derm whinging about taunting in the game, and they only show the Vanders example. Of course they don't talk about Max being targeted off the ball, including being repeatedly punched in the chest in the first quarter. Or maybe they could talk about McHenry going after May after the ball is gone. Biased umps and biased commentary.

I think Gawn got one free late in the second for it, but yes, it's infuriating.

vandenBerg's was a free against, but it's all one way. They're doing whatever they want after the ball's dead and Gawn's copping it left right and centre.

Jeez Vandenburg is a [censored] footballer. He’s basically selected to try and hurt blokes. Can’t find the ball and can’t hit a target on the rare occasion he does. Been a waste of a list spot for years. 3 year contract hahaha

Bennell is cooked. Great story he got back playing, but my grandmother moves with more urgency...and she’s dead! He’s shot. Can’t run even if he wanted to. Sad to see.

I don't think Bennell's problem is his legs or fitness.

I just don't think he's feeling confident enough to put his head over the ball.

Whatever it is, with him, ANB and Melksham in our forward line, it's a disaster. Hannan wasn't great the last two weeks but without Pickett, we should have kept him in for his pace and tackling.

Does the wine region have to change its name too?

Off topic considering the tone of the thread, but thoughts on Sparrow to half time?  Thought he's looked alright and has a bit of dash about him.  I think he is worth persisting with going forward.

Deplorable. Goodwin has lost the players. It's going to be a long two years.

We are a rabble.

Can't see any logic in Goodwin continuing. Into his fourth season there is no evidence that he can imprint a method on his players that wins games and stands up under pressure.

Mahoney was so smug in the club video when he said last week was a once off performance. He was almost laughing when Ben aksed about the shocking performance against Port.

Fast forward 6 days and we are seeing something almost identical from a Melbourne point of view.

Yeah, we are up by a few points, but have not played any better than last week.

Our club is absolutely broken. We might end up winning by a few goals but right now any sane footy follower would have their money on the Cows.

This game has heartbreak written all over it.

Agree. Goodwin has lost the players. To come out and dish this crap up with no effort and deplorable skills is disgusting. He needs to go. No improvement. We should still win but we are basically full strength and they are a rabble.

Call Clarko and F off Goodwin. The players dont know what he is trying to tell them. Been going on years, theres no structure or gameplan. He is out of his depth.

How's this for a number:

11 of our 'players" have had less than 5 disposals.

Bennell 1.

In case you missed it

We would walk this game in without a head coach, so to lose this one says something IMO.

one of us, one of us, one of us!

Might start watching the England v Pakistan test.

Should the 50 to Tracc have been a double 59? Why was he just jogging instead of charging through?

There was a play on the wing when Hibberd took possession and hedged in on boundary line he kicked long along the line to no one in particular. His other option was to hand ball backwards to a teammate in space with time and space to be more constructive. Sigh.

so he has 100% ED

A few more of those and we win

May is gonna belt someone out of frustration and I wont blame him. I'd want a holiday from playing with these spuds

our players turned up expecting just to win without putting in the effort needed to win. Now they are in a match and they are fumbling to catchup. playing a rightfully last placed crows and we should be beating them by 10 goals not 5 points. so many passengers, dont know how to tackle correctly, dont know how to chase or kick. our disposal is woeful again. clangers galore and given away more frees than 6 of our players have actually knocked up. gods its hard being a demons supporter these last 50 years or so.

Ooooof. Goodwin looks [censored].

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
