Wow what a remarkable scenario !

We are playing a crap winless team who have made 8 changes !

Yet doubts remain !

If we can’t win this game well - especially after being pounded in the media. Then the players, coaches and assorted hangers on should just find a flight back to Melbourne and pack it up.

In fact if we don’t win this well , then we are [censored] and finished as a footy club!

Dont hold back bbo.

I hear you though. Its a must win especially after the backlash.

Neeld was one of them, Ratten another I forget the third one.

A couple of milestones tonight.

There’s a couple of highlights videos on the OS which show the intent and aggression of 2018 - I’d say that Hibbo has done okay so far this year, but let’s have the old Harmesy back from this evening onwards. Well done to both players, in any case.

I will be braving the winter cold tonight flying the flag in attendance tonight wish me luck fellow Dees.

If we're fair dinkum about the coach and what we stand for as a club it will be 5-6 goal win tonight.

Not sure what all the fuss is about.

We know how it plays out, we know that when we can win, it staves of the doubt for another 72 hours.. we lose and it confirms that the team doesn't care. And it feels like all the emotional effort put in is worthless (and some would argue it ultimately is anyway).

Ultimately, it doesnt care about 'us', or 'me'  Perhaps that's why I  get so angry, because really, I am angry at myself. Where else in my life would I tolerate heartache like this...?

So here I am on gameday, having an existential crisis. Of all my 41 years of being alive, these memories flood back

  • Crying whilst on holiday into my banana milk shake when we heard on the radio Jimmy had run over the man on the mark...
  • loving Ricky Jackson coming out of the locker and listening on vinyl to 'some forums' theme tune
  • listening to the reserves reports of Darren Cuthbertson wondering how some freak goal kicking, marking machine couldn't get a a run of games (back injuries I believe)
  • the sexyness of Steven Tingay...
  • kevin Dyson thighs
  • guy rigonis hair
  • a hero called Allen, another called Garry.
  • The anticiaption of a dynasty with David and David as the spine.
  • The spruiking of The Reverend,
  • The joy of Brad Green vs Carlton,
  • The sadness of Troy,
  • Brad Miller kicking 5 against the Saints for my first game back from living overseas, thinking, we've got a superstar here!
  • yze goal square hanger in Geelong whilst we failed to win and merely draw
  • The hollowness whilst present to watch 186,
  • the inconsistency  of the mid 90's- 2000's.
  • the awful skills of 2010 plus
  • Aussi Wonnameri vs Freo,
  • First round draft picks...none of them superstars.
  • Mark Neelds hard [censored] attitude as the saviour(!?)
  • Jack Watts against Collingwood...as a first gamer
  • Jack Watts against Collingwood with the titanic
  • In bali for the first time, in some seedy bar going beserk when TMAC kicked the final second goal against WCE to start providing some long lost hope
  • Dean Kent in the West
  • Mitch at the G

It's my football supporting life flashing across my eyes... and it's my Hotel California, unfortunately, whatever happens tonight.. I can check out, but I can never leave.

Postscript... Here is my son..just now. I am still unsure whether I have consigned him to a life of misery..just look at his head...it hangs low. He knows how to do the Melbourne Supporter look well.

I can't shake the feeling that we're going to lose this one.

We shouldn't. We should win by 6+ goals.

But I can't help but feel Adelaide will pull one out, knowing this may be their last chance to win a game all year.

I have the same feeling unfortunately. zero confidence in us winning this one

If Goody thinks he's under the pump now, it'll be 1000% worse if we lose this game

If we lose, you can put a few extra zeroes on the end of that.

The only thing hilarious about that would be the usual suspects telling everyone to:

calm down

It was an honorable loss

Covid has affected us worse than everyone else

We are re-building

Goodwin is still the man to get our next flag

But we've got such a dangerous midfield?

We should have had Oscar

Umpiring was bad

We were unlucky

The football Gods are against us

etc etc

He's a smart operator Glenn Bartlett he knew exactly what he was doing when he gave the playing group and football department a clip.

Absolutely no way out for Goody tonight if we cough this up, coming off a 6 day break against a samboy cup u/10 team  coming off a 4 day break.

2 debutantes raft of changes.

It's chalk and cheese.

I just heard Dwayne on SEN tell everyone that Goodwin, regardless of results is safe until the end of 2022.
coffee went everywhere

There is no way Bartlett, as a Lawyer took Public Aim at Goodwin without knowing exactly where he stood.

I was going to ring in, but just couldn’t do it!!

If we lose tonight I hope the Kangas beat us too.  Might as well fast rack the inevitable.

But of course I want us to win both games by 10 goals.    We need all the joy we can get at the moment.

Make no mistake, win, lose or draw, we should beat Adelaide tonight it we out score them.

Logic suggests it, just as long as outscoring them also means our points add up to a higher number than theirs.

Adelaide were a goal down to St Kilda with 8 minutes left in the game, and they're flying.

They then took Essendon to the last 20 seconds.

They are so close to an Adelaide Oval win that they can see the finish line.

Adelaide at $3.30 represent value.

some nervous, negative demons fans today!  you know we lost to the top team last week right?  I know it was a pathetic performance but we'll bounce back and win this.  Its next week against North we need to worry about

The Demons are usually good for one decent week after a pityful performance

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti
