Will be interesting to see the coin he has been offered.  Would love the compensation to be end of first round pick, Essendon supporters will spew if they get pick 19 or 20 for him which will be pushed back into mid 20's after NGA/FS bidding.

They will most likely get mid first round pick or after there first, might give bombers pick 6, 7(Carltons for Saad), and 8ish Daniher comp pick.

Seriously how the Lions can afford this guy is beyond me. The Lions are already paying Neale, Andrews, Zorko, McCluggage, Lyons, Cameron close to 500K or more.

Depends on what he is on himself.  The Lions are obviously in terrific nick with the culture and their list, and with their good record around injuries and rehabilitation, he may have been happy to take a bit less to fit in their wage structure to get there.

No Dees are not he wants to leave Victoria, who wouldn't, DAN the dictor is preparing Vic for the China takeover.

Right.........

...

Seems getting out of Victoria is his number 1 criterion.
Makes sense; highly recognisable young man, playing for a polarising team.

I'll leave this post up as a reminder to not bring your personal politics into footy threads. It's fine to say that a player would prefer to leave Victoria to escape lockdown but no need to accentuate your point by bringing the politics into it from either side of the aisle.

What is the Lions salary cap? I thought it bursting this year but it seems they can fit in a guy wanting $700k a year.

Wow.
Must be those budget night accounting gremlins doing some magic work again !!!

I'll be honest and say that I'm impressed that you can make any sense out of the post in the first place.

Can’t wait for the completely irrelevant statement from Dodoro about this. Should have taken the offer last season when it would have netted them more. They just paid Joe 800k for the year to rehab and get himself right to go play in Brisbane.

Nailed it ?

I don't know when it happened, but I appreciate the addition of the facepalm reaction for posts.

People were unhappy that “reputation” points were taken away for the laugh reaction. I took the reputation points away for the laugh so posters didn’t get “reputation” points for posts like that. As a consequence funny posters were punished. The facepalm reaction was the solution.

After all these years ignoring politics being dragged into threads you choose to react to that one? Cant wait to see what happens next time someone makes a comment about Trump in a footy thread.

He's going to leave dl and assess the lion's players?

Can't say I blame him.

Jesus Christ what a joke of a post Demonland.

Every lefty on this site finds a way to insert Donald Trump into every damn thread and you say bugger all.

On another note.
How enjoyable is watching Essendon implode right now.
Even in our darkest days I can't remember every-one of note we had wanting out.

Band 1 for a 3 year deal? Doesn't sound right, but the AFL make it up as they go. Crouch will get pick 2 for sure.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
