Interesting no one commented on this in training thread.

May wasn’t on the track by the time I got there.

Removed unsubstantiated allegation

Don’t worry we have Omac to cover.

Yes, didn't see it.

I wonder where he was 'sitting'.

I'll have a look at him tomorrow if he is there. As training is scheduled from 10.30 am.

The alleged injury to May doesn’t appear to be much of a news story. Possibly, just a ‘precaution’.

Neither did I, said hello to him as he walked off at end of session, didn't look hampered at all

It’s November

May has never played 20 games in a season, let alone the 25 required to win a premiership. His best football is fantastic, but he is always a good chance to get injured or belt someone at the worst possible time.

Yesterday or today?

I think we need to drastically scale back his training loads and build a game plan around him sitting deeper at full back.

Many dreams of changing his body shape and game style are just that, dreams.

Interesting that cameras were there at training and this breaks and nothing on Oliver.

TV news is all about the video footage. If the network doesn't have a picture showing Oliver in trouble but one showing that May might be, they'll fashion the story to address May's potential injury because it is what they can show.

interesting 'cherry picked' statistic. His 6 years prior to joining Melbourne he played 17-19 games. since he became established he hasn't missed big chunks of the season until last year. I think the fitness thing is a massive over reaction.

The 9 news item also mentioned Oliver and showed footage of him going down. Also mentioned and showed Melksham nursing a hand injury, but suggested that it was minor.

I hope no one sneezes.

May has been a disaster. Bring back Frost

May and Lever as our 2 main defenders gasp....can we possibly expect them to get though a decent chunk of the season uninjured....?

25 games required to win a premiership?

Marlion pickett- 1 game, 1 premiership

Better go get his medal off him

Injury notes from the media:-

• Jake Lever (ankle), Braydon Preuss (shoulder) and Sam Weideman (hips) have had post-season surgery

• Adam Tomlinson (calf) and Charlie Spargo (ankle) had minor setbacks last week as they begin their program

Injury notes track watchers:-

• Aaron VandenBerg, Austin Bradtke and Harrison Petty - rehabbers increasing their work load

• Oskar Baker and Mitch Hannan with Tomlinson rehabbers walking laps

• Joel Smith appears to be on his own programme doing light duties

• Neville Jetta, Kade Chandler, Lever and Weideman also on light duties

• Clayton Oliver trained on Friday with his left shoulder heavily strapped and left training early again

• Kade Kolodjashnij collided with Matty Hore at training and went off early favouring his right arm

• despite those reports from earlier in the week Steven May trained on Friday in no apparent discomfort

Anyone know why Oskar Baker is doing light rehab? I don't recall him getting an injury towards back end of the year or surgery?

Do you realise that many of my posts in the off season are satire. I'm feeling rather bullish about where our club is, including during the season last year.

Confusing your posts with satire is not something I've ever done. Ethan Trembay, now that's a funny cat.

I find it frustrating to hear that so-and-so is in the rehab group without knowing the cause (what happened when it happened), current progress and likely period in rehab.

As we so seldom get official club reports on injuries during the pre-season, I thought it would be helpful ( well for me anyway) if we could have a separate thread listing the current injured players, what their injuries are, and how long the chat is that they will be in rehab (and no jokes about 4-6 weeks). It would then be easy to look back and get an update.

I assume that the most informed of us will be the track watches, and if we could impose on those gents, or others with the info, to please update the list with details, it would be most appreciated.

The injured or restricted players that have been mentioned in training reports that I can remember include:

KK

Petty

Hannan

Tomlinson

Spargo

Jones

AVB

J Smith

Weid

Bennell

Baker

There may be others but others can add those.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
