Kozzie has the X factor that makes you go wow & most of the X factor players are indigenous.  How lucky are we with Kozzie & Bennell in the one side to provide that !!!

Absolutely @rjay!

There will be games where he'll be rested, but for me he just needs to play as much games as possible.

Him and Jacko gaining more experience so early can only be good for their development.

It's exciting to watch 'dazzle'.

They had some nice cameos today but with more game time they are going to be a real handful.

Weightman. Game 2. Ineffective. 4 possessions. Didn’t even know he was playing. 72 minutes.  For a small player in wet conditions, he was completely unsighted

Both players will be good in their own way. I dont understand why threads like these need to be brought up every single game just to prove a point.

I liked Weightman in his draft year and he has all the tools to be a good small forward of the competition in years to come. Same as Koz.

Right now both Koz and Weightman are just young kids finding their way through their AFL journeys.

I'll continue to enjoy watching both talents for what they are.

Already kicked in one game as many goals as Pickett has for the season. I'll take the guy who kicks goals thanks.

2 games for 2 goals vs 5 games for 4 goals?

Pretty foolish to judge 19 year old kids so early. Too much water to pass under the bridge. Both might not make it, or have 12-year careers.

Comparisons can be odious!

Give me Kossie anyday. His defensive efforts are way above Weightman although Weightman is a better mark.

Pickett has far better defensive pressure. He is running blokes down out of sight, creating opportunities for us - his presence alone creates fear in backman, and can result in turnovers due to anxiety (that isn't a stat). We definitely chose the right bloke. Pickett is already a jet, and already makes our side better. Weightman is going to take time. Looks like a good pick considering where he was taken. Could be a player for the bullies. Doubt he will have a better career than Pickett though.

I never said weightman was the right selection champ

Not sure if this is a media trolling of the highest order, or Weightman is in play:

Picket + Weightman would be a lethal combination, although the high pick cost would not be worth it. Tomlinson + 2nd rounder please!

Reckon he may be simply donating some of his old gear

He's an hour late. They close at 5pm. Should've ducked in earlier.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
