Absolutely! He looks dangerous whenever he gets near the ball, and when he doesn't have it, he's working for it. Lots to like, big future.

He is the small forward we need at the moment. Tackles hard, is confident enough to go up the ground and has footy smarts. I like his hard edge

Winning move; They benched OMAC for that last minute

pfft, even after a desperate one-goal season-on-the-line win you want to snipe?

For what it is worth (and I know Oscar had a few hairy moments as always),

O. McDonald. 8 kicks, 6 marks (1 contested), 100% disposal efficiency, 0 clangers, and 10 one-percenters.

He did his job. Nothing special or super, but he did his job.

Story of the win really - a bunch of players who have been in seriously bad form were able to come out and at least do 'enough'.

Best examples would be Nibbler, Hunt, Stertch and O.Mc himself.

Meanwhile, a couple of players seemed to actually find some of their better form, led by Harmes and Hibberd obviously.

Eddie spaghetti said the umps were good today.

WTF

What game was he watching.

Dumb arz

The umps did everything to help Whoreform - even break the rules of the game, blatantly - all the way to the half-time break. And, it showed.

Seriously, they were bad

The Roughead holding the ball and the non 50m were blatantly wrong and any idiot could see that

They've had an awful year so far

Totally agree!

On the topic of small forwards, I like what Garlett was doing today. He doesn't have much to show for it, but he got himself into good positions, and generally looked dangerous.

So wrapt with that win. Should’ve gone to the game in hindsight...

Can anyone please explain that second 50m against Harmes? I saw no player run past the Hawks player at all. They didn’t show a replay either.

Stats don't count the 2 contests he should've won but didn't even make the contest in the last quarter, resulting in 2 of the goals that Hawthorn kicked to almost pinch it

Am away interstate so watching on tv and Fox Footy showed it in replay analysis

I don't want to snipe either,  but Omac almost lost us the game

Agreed. Jeffry didn’t have big stats, but he created a load of opportunities and was directly responsible for 4 of our goals from his pressure. People can continue to hate him on, and he’s not perfect (see shot at goal instead of passing to TMac), but he’s comfortably the best small forward on our list and one of the Vestberg in the league when he’s in form. His crumbing and pressure today were exactly what we’ve been missing up forward all year.

What really pisses me off is this magical protected zone whose limit seems to vary with the whim of the umpire. Blatant similar ones not paid, blatant worse ones under the old rules (which still apply) ditto.    Since the umpires are guessing already, why not have them guess whether the player running past is likely to interfere with the player with the ball.  If not, no 50m.  Almost every one of these 'in the protected zone' penalties would require the infringing player to tear muscles to be able to change direction to interfere with the player with the ball.

Hawthorn lost to Harmes.

Game was a mess, Harmes stood out like dogs balls.

A win is a win but my heart cannot take 3 hours of rubbish and a nail biting finish.

Some excellent efforts from Frost.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
