Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

More click bait - just like Cornes last week.

Hawks went to the AFL first thing yesterday to seek clarification complain about three frees against them.  No mention of that by Wallace.  Hawks were 5 goals up at 3/4 time and lost by 3+ goals;  9 goal turnaround in 30 minutes!  Does'n mention that either!  Oh right, we know who he played for.

Always whinge, whinge, whinge about us.  Does he offer any original thought? No!  Does he offer any ideas or insights?  No!  Does he give any credit for the improvement from last week or after qtr time this week?  No!

He is irrelevant!

The Hawks & Clarkson have the runs on the board.

Unfortunately we are going to be a target until we win a flag or two.

We've done nothing yet...

Hawthorn took a scalp in round 1.

Defeating Adelaide, a team who should have had a home-ground and fitness advantage given they had a longer pre-season. Hawthorn were knocked out a week earlier than us in finals.

We lost to Port at the G who were playing four kids and had a number of senior players missing.

Then we lost to Geelong by 80 points.

You mightn't like him.

But he's not wrong.

I know that Hawks have some runs on the board but their performance this week was just as bad as ours!  Also, he only went after us; no mention of Ess starting flat.

Not saying Wallace is wrong and I don't mind commentators saying it as they see it.  There have been umpteen articles and reports on the subject but far more balanced.  All he did was whinge, adding nothing to what we already know.

As I said, click bait from Mr Irrelevant.

Terry Wallace suffers from the old problem of being on air to much across the week, therefor to justify it, he has to say stupid stuff. He is the most self indulgent bloke in the media.

He's got a point about us supporters claiming we're on the right track just because we won the inside 50 count.

On what metric is an 80 point loss an improvement from a 27 point loss? I can't believe Goodwin was upbeat after the game.

At least against Port we didn't have someone like Tom Hawkins pick up the ball in the goal square, wait 20 minutes because none of our defenders were in the same suburb as him and then handball to a rookie for his first goal.

I actually agree 100% with what he said!!

Am I the only one?

Good teams would have reacted to the buffeting of Max and displayed a solid unified No nonsense "Dont Argue"

Good teams score from relative opportunities and the staggering inside 50 count pointed to our inability to convert. I mean we miss too many easyish goals to often.

I know we haven't anywhere near our best side in but really good teams find ways of winning.

We are so far of it and with now 5 loses from 5 starts we are in danger.

Wallet I don't always agree with but he is spot on.

No more excuses Just DO!

I hope you are.

Look at Brayshaw's interview last night.  Refused to use the surgeries excuse and referred to Oliver blitzing.

Like Caro said, Melbourne (the club) aren't complaining, nor excusing.

There are so many in the media, in this 24 hour cycle, you actually have to say something slightly ridiculous as a point-of-difference.

Premiership favourites ???? Bunkum !!!!  Let's not fall for that nonsense nor get upset when some drone like Wallace takes a pot shot at the club. Wallace is no good at his job, neither is his son setting the umpiring world on fire.

The club isn't blaming anyone. We the supporters are going berserk, but other than Goodwin and Viney noting that our midfield output had improved on the previous week (which, statistically, it did), this is just guff from a [censored] of a "commentator".

Just to confirm, they were missing three players (Dixon, Hartlett and Wines), one of whom is questionable as to being in the best 22 (Hartlett).

It's not like they were decimated with injuries.

Not really the point of your post, I know, but it stood out to me.

Cold hard fact is it’s been a terrible, disappointing start. We need to respond quickly before the doubts set in.

Port Bullied us big time in round one & we seem rattled.  Time to harden up & attack 2019 hard. We have the cattle, time to stand up on game day. No excuses.

Free hit for the media commentariat. Call-out Melbourne with stereotype dog-whistles to those who feel we have a reputation, and claim the wake-up call when we turn it around. Can't believe that some of the excitable Geelong tribe would have the gall to call us soft this week, after our kids physically dominated their veteran campaigners when it mattered.

It's just so easy to stick the boots in when a team is down. For all if the excuses we could use, we don't.

Richmond lose Rance and the nedia have an excuse for Richmond dropping a game. We play without lever and May down back and are expected to get the win.

Agreed to some extent, but I like the media getting stuck into us, because it means there's expectations and rightly so. Lift your game MFC.

Our kids did dominate their mids in the middle, but their mids ran harder and used the ball better when they got it, hence the 80 point loss. I don't think we can paper over this fact.

More outrage porn for, frankly, the stupid masses who can't discern between credible news and fluff commentary designed to get a rise out of people and generate advertising revenue via web traffic.

We know where we are at and certainly don't need some idiot like Wallace to point that out. As long as the players aren't making excuses and are focused with getting things back on track this constant stream of "expert" opinion means zero to me.

It's easy also to throw scorn at those that want to use us a a media originated punching bag.

If we weren't playing rubbish football we wouldn't attract the slings and arrows of outrageous scorn.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
