I wanted him to get a game mid-season last year before he was injured but the #1 rule in life is never get seduced by the highlights tape.

Too right. Nicknamed him ‘The Bread Man’ thinking he will deliver the goods at some stage last year. Hasn’t shown much, even before his injury unfortunately. Wish him luck, but slim chance of making it.

Should at least get a game when we only have 22 fit players left by Round 10

Not following Casey, I’m wondering how this guy is going?

Speed is asset we don’t have at MFC, from draft reports he has this.

Is he a chance to play sooner than later?

thanks in advance.

Can't you just provide a summary?

Gee, the mood here has soured. His name was being thrown around for selection last year prior to a serious injury and he was performing consistently in the twos. Now everyone thinks he's set for delisting six months later and after just his second year on the list? Okay.

De-listing may be a little premature in that timeframe. Big recovery from injury - but certainly has speed and the other skills including ball-handling can continue to develop. Is known to be able to goal on the run.

Baker is not ready yet.  Hunt and Baker could be damaging but Baker needs 5-6 more games at Casey.

Any idea what position we can expect him to play? Wing?

In his interview he said wing/half forward.

One player that i have completely forgotten about. We talk about speed and dash along the outside and Oskar is exactly that type of player we desperately need.

Anyone know how he has been performing down at Casey during the practice games??

I also really believe he is the type of player that would thrive more at AFL level then VFL due to open space rather the congestion of VFL level.

Saw him speak on the club website and he's got some real conviction, a quiet confidence, that makes me comfortable he will thrive on the big stage. Similare to Hore in that way.

Seems like he has been around forever but still only 20 yo! good size and we desperately need speed even if his killing skills arent 100%

More solidly built than I had the impression of. Maybe I just got distracted by the talk of speed and flair, normally reserved for the skinny types, or Riolis!

With a little luck he can be our Dean Kent replacement. HA! ?

I played footy for a club (many years ago) and there was a guy in the twos who played in the BP. He was a reasonable, steady footballer who was never outstanding.  He'd played in the twos for about 2 years when we realised that we were going to have a late "out" in the senior game one Saturday so put him on the bench.

Well, he came on late in the first quarter off a half back flank and was very, very good. He never left the senior side after that and even ran 4th in the comp B & F a few years later.

The point I am trying to make is that there are some players who play better when the players around them and the standards of the game are higher.  They rise to that level when the opportunity arises. I reckon Oskar may be one of those.

There is no doubt that playing with better players gives you a good chance to perform at a better level.

That of course has to be tempered by the fact that your opposition is better and quicker and the game is faster.

The real problem for Oskar, is that unlike most clubs, we are poorly skilled and that pass that should hit him on the chest may in fact land in a food outlet.

Glad though that he is getting a chance and hope he has a good one.

The club sees a 'serious ' injury to a young player as an opportunity rather than a serback

They give them teaching/learning opportunities as well as building them physically, Baker this year physically bears no resemblance to last year, he also has a greater understanding of the game, chatted to him about it

They are doing the same with Aaron Neitschke, already put on a couple of k of muscle whilst off legs, has Nev Jetta to keep him company at the moment, which can only be a good thing

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
