Could be 10 from 10 in his first 10 games.  Simply unbelievable

Love his hard running, strong tackling and tidy skills.

Looking back, he was an excellent draft pick by JT that mirrored the need by the footy club.  JJ was the youngest player drafted in his year as he scrapped into the eligibility by 11 days. Had played school footy predominately and rose up the draft order on the back of his TAC cup GF performance.

💙❤️Good skilled ball user

💙❤️Wins his own footy

💙❤️Good character

in JT we trust 🏆

Can anyone suggest a game or two that shows James Jordon at his best this year?

I have some spare time......

Go watch the Sydney game.

Now I have only watched the first quarter.  JJ had 10 disposals, had a hand in the Swans first 2 goals, disposal by foot was terrible but did dish out some good hand passes.

On to the second quarter.

I thought he was one of our best yesterday against Collingwood.  His stat sheet is very impresive for a youngster finding his way.

Team high for Metres Gained and Score Involvements.  29 disposals at 82.8% efficiancy.

Has put contract talks on hold.

Was very good on the weekend.

Certainly was, just thought he was exactly what we needed for this game.

If I'm his manager and I'm seeing either Harmes or Sparrow ahead of him in the pecking order for the remainder of the season, I'm encouraging him to explore his options!

Absolutely.
I can totally respect that he’d get a game at most clubs and if he’s struggling to get one at ours he has every right to explore that.
He is way way too good to play VFL.

I'm a JJ fan, and thought he was hard done by at the selection table last year. Whilst others were struggling, JJ would be the first player dropped. He showed his class on Sunday.

Wouldn't blame him if he walked.

I really rate JJ. Having watched Adelaide play Port on the weekend, they are setting up nicely to be a force in a few years. The midfield depth is their weakness and I could see him being a good replacement for Rory Sloane (who really wound back the clock last weekend). Sparrow could also be a target. Previously I thought that Sparrow would be the one to keep, and have been expecting him to breakout, but I think he might not have the game awareness and craft of JJ. It might be a fascinating watch this year as to who progresses further.

I see Harmes as being “I’m Melbourne, Tony”, but maybe we do have to be supportive of him finding a new home if it means we keep both the SA boys

JJ is from Yarrawonga. Kade Chandler from SA.

Fair enough for him to wait and see. I hope he stays, but if we win another flag this year someone like him may leave for more money.

If I had to choose between paying Kozzie and JJ I know who I'm choosing....

I wouldnt blame him, but id blame the club immensely!

A 22yr old AFL-grade midfielder who wins his own footy, uses it very well, is fit/healthy and who's had 360 and 445 possession in his first 2 years.   For all the hyperbole Adam "what's my strengths again" Cerra gets, JJ is a demonstrably better footballer.  Whatever the tough decisions are here, they need to get it done. He's got a 200 game career ahead of him for someone.

Simple

JJ > Harmes

More consistent, better ball use/decision making, better tank, better tackling, pressure, and overall defensively.

The only thing Harmes does better is also what makes him a liability and thats taking the opposition on with fend off's and breaking tackles. Harmes used to be a great contested mark for his size but even that's gone down hill.

I love James Harmes and we all know his story growing up a Melbourne Demon supporter etc. He's been a terrific leader and when the team is playing well he still performs well. But JJ is far more reliable now. I hope the FD know this and Harmes becomes the depth player behind JJ.

I totally agree. Both Harmes and Melksham really shouldn't be getting selected ahead of the likes off JJ.

Now's the time to be giving the younger ones games.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
