Kent and Hogan for 6 and 23.

Makes sense to pay overs to bring players in, but contracted players going out? Poor form

Still weak at our core.

Look at other teams around us, Collingwood (Beams) Hawthorn (Wingard, Scully)and Richmond (Lynch), all improved their list. There is no way our list has improved from this.

If it gets us May, KK and an additional useful player then that's a decent outcome.

Not amazing. Not disastrous. Decent.

I'm partly just glad it's done tbh.

Overall I think we did well. Got Hogan off with his big salary who did not want to be in Victoria as well his other issues for a first and second round pick.

That foot - those issues - leads us to new faces and considerable strengthening. Not as bad as the heart feels.

Good work MFC.

Now to get some players in who WANT to be here.

Will be interesting to see how many dummy spits Hogan has with the FREO midfield delivering the ball to him.

I’ll back in our footy department everyday after what they’ve been able to achieve over the passed 4 years.

Thye have earned and deserve trust.

Agree.

The war is the premiership.

The battle is the trade period.

A single trade is an engagement.

So long as everything is driving to winning the war the other parts don’t matter in isolation.

Who knows if we have the right strategy. Time will tell.

Gun forwards who kick 50 goals are rare.

We have lost a beauty.

Good Luck to Jesse....but more importantly Go Dees!

True. And Hogan has never kicked 50 goals in a season.

I wish him well and hope he will be happy in his new home but don't feel particularly disappointed that he's gone. In my view he never really lived up to expectations. Sure, he played some great games, but for various reasons, some outside his control, he was inconsistent and not really embedded as a team player.

Not happy but nothing can be done

A contract of any length is no more than a handshake

Sad to lose a gun forward who has 7-8 years of AFL left in him.

I hope we play the Shockers on the ‘G next year

It really annoys me that people have a go at the disappointed posters.  Hogan is a generational player, he held our aspirational hopes for a long time and we became attached to him.  I can't believe there is anyone not sad to see him go.  Those knocking the disappointed are just jerks.

Average trade. We paid overs for Lever and have let Hogan go for unders. Lucky the list is in such good shape otherwise, as we've proven to be weak at the trade table when the big deals need doing.

Would have liked a better deal but it is what it is.

We're pushing for the flag, if this chain-reaction helps claim a flag then overs/unders can be ignored.

He's had a rough run, so all the best to Hoges over there, looking forward to a solid Melbourne back-line shutting him out.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
