Farewell Jesse Hogan

Featured Replies

3 things:

1. Freo have been chasing Hogan around like a pathetic ex boyfriend. Jesse finally agrees to go to them, and they cower in a corner like the piece of garbage club that they are

2. How does Hogan and the club feel about this? How does he go playing for a club next year he doesn't really want to be at?

3. How do we get May now? Have we missed the boat?

I think just found my fifth most hated team after Hawks, Bombers, Port, Pies and now Dockers.

[censored]! Haha

They are now the club I love too hate...

Dees are going too smash you, bend you over, stick unhappy things in ya! And put a score in ya!

Peter Bell is nothing but a [censored] jockey!

Good riddens [censored]!

This process has been anything but a waste of time; we still have Jessie, plus a much deeper understanding and appreciation of whisky, cheese and biscuits.

Peter Bellend.

What a rabble of a club Freo is.

Awesome ? welcome back Jesse !

Hopefully this proves to Jesse that he should stay in the red and blue , but at least the club were prepared to allow him to explore his options , we have supported him yet again and welcome him back with open arms

now time to play finals Jesse

now is the time to cuddle up to young Jesse and sign him for four years at $800-900k

that's what a Hawthorn ... the family club... would do

Agree on this.

That statement from Bell seems to indicate that they are pointing at Hogan AND Melb being the reason they are withdrawing.

Hogan may as well sign a contract that sees him through to free agency, and remain. He can still entertain a trade back West once WCE are interested, or once Freo sack Bell and the other muppets over there!

Perhaps we look to develop Hogan as a CHB for 2019, and we then have 2 high quality swingmen in the game in TMac and Hogan! Hogan's kicking in general play is exceptional. Since when is it a bad problem to have too many good players at the club. Keep developing Petty. I'm happy to keep Hogan, I was happy to let him go and get May too, but thats what happens.

PS.... my daughter will be ecstatic if Hogan stays next year ;)

Now, what would Adelaide give us for Hogan..

got to say, at least they called it now and didnt beat around the bush until Wednesday 5pm.

Now we can move on and deal with other clubs.

Strangely I don't think I'd want to play poker against Bell.

Play him down back next year.

Might not need May now.

With Preuss coming in and Weideman pushing for selection, I don't see a problem.

T. MacDonald can always rotate back. He'll be more capable than his brother.

Bell's sentence:

"As such, we have informed Melbourne and Jesse's management that we will not be continuing further with the due diligence process."

has amateur pomposity written all over it.

It’s over.

You don’t make a public statement like that and keep a seat at the negotiation table.

Freo have acted reprehensibly here. Tapped our player up, destabilised him and got his hopes up, then offered a ridiculous insulting lowball offer to his host club.

FFS they have been after him for four years.

Bell thinks he can get him on the cheap next year. That’s what’s happened here. Little pric.k.

Freo not rating Hogan but watch them offer him a mountain of cash next year in order to lure him.

Still need to trade for him unless they finish last.... and may be competing with WCE for his services!

Barrett going to town on freo on trade radio

Dockers supporters not pleased.

We will want 3 first round picks next year.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
