Eddie was all over Dees in Fox sports coverage, In fact he was gushing in his enthusiasm!

Not such a Bad bloke at all!!

Anyone else agree!?

Was trying to get the Dees fan to continue the 'Roosy' chant as well. We're the fairytale so everyone will be on us

are you for real?

no

Watched him really rallying the crowd off camera after the siren, talking to elated supporters and congratulating them. He looked genuinely happy for us. Good on him.

Great ?!

There has to be an agenda. Or money in it.  Or a setup - like when he had Trac on the Footy Show before QBD game and gave him a big head.

Haha was just thinking the same, money bags wanting to really cash in on QB when it goes back to swapping each season on the gate.

The guy just loves afl footy that much.

Kudos to him.

For all the [censored] the footy show gets from the 'cultured' bogan haters, whenever I've tuned in this year I've been entertained, despite the poor comedic efforts of fevola and Sam and his political grandstanding. It still has its 'footy community' spirit in tact and I think Eddie's enthusiasm goes a long way in building it. Whereas when Ive tuned in to front bar i just feel repelled by the repetitive jokes of mick molloy. The calls to cancel the footy show are ridiculous and have more to do with Sam's senility than anything else. Eddie was great tonight.

Eddie loves the filth first and foremost, but tbh if you ever get a chance to chat to him about footy in general he does have a genuine love of the game (except for Sydney teams ?)

He is actually a fantastic commentator (minus the press red for ed [censored]) always seems to get up and about for the big occasions no matter the team.

Eddie won't love Cinderella too much when she turns up to the ball, boots a few blokes in the nuts, does Prince Charming on the dinner table ,tells the king where to go and then downs a magnum of Champagne and belts the ugly sisters with the bottle.

Yeah love it Biff!

Oh and one other thing,

Then takes of with a Large Cup of some description!!

This tread is telling me there must be some good acid around.

Sorry, can't share this love for Eddie.

In 2010 when they made finals he said something like: "if you jump on the Pies bandwagon now, you are not a supporter.  We don't need you".  Well same to you Eddie.  We don't need you on our Demon bandwagon.

He will quickly turn tail if we play the Pies in a few weeks.  He is a phoney.

He even had a dig at Dermott about hawthorn - "Oh the hawks haven't won a flag for 3 years, you'll be looking to merge with another club soon"

I frkn love Paul Roos. I really do. He saved this club.

Good on Eddie - I’ve pretty well hated him until I watched that footage, now I kind of like him.

And thanks for sharing DNIMD - I enjoyed watching that. Made everything feel more real this morning.

Let’s bring this ship into port. It will just mean so much.

That’s a fantastic clip. Thanks.

Good on ya Ed. I often stick the boots in to you, but he is a good commentator when The Filth are not there.

He knows about passion in the game.

The MFC the sleeping Giant has woken 90,000 in successive weeks on OUR home ground

Is this a bit of a side swipe to the Dees from Eddie:

“It all turned last year in Round 23 against Melbourne...That was the moment it all changed. We got going, backed ourselves in, cleared our heads and away we went..."  https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/collingwoods-2018-resurgence-dates-back-to-round-23-win-over-melbourne-last-year-says-eddie-mcguire/news-story/fadfbe5715e88082e13ddb00d1adbfd2

Really?  One game?  He has started the mind games in case we meet in the GF!

There are two Eddies: 1) Commentator/Showman 2) President of a ghastly club.  His 'gushing' and 'enthusiasm' for the dees that Picket refers to was all show.  He doesn't 'love' Melbourne any more than any of us 'love' Collingwood.

We have won 6 out of 7 GF’s against them.

He showers praise on us but content to let the pies fly somewhat under the radar. That’s what he wants. He’s just filling the bathtub for us.

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
