May be Vince for Tyson. I have been a Tyson apologist but he’s lost me. Our worst tonight by a mile. Or JKH if he has a blinder tomorrow

Vince for Tyson is the only change I’d consider.

Vince for Tyson.

Won't happen though.

Several years ago when Hawthorn beat Geelong in the Grand Final of 2008, the critics were raving about Cyril’s game in which he had a low number of possessions. Charlie Spargo had only a dozen disposals tonight but it was one of the best games of 12 touches you could get. He kicked 2 goals and was involved in at least three goal assists of which I was aware. His “quiet” game was probably the difference between the sides.

Spargo plays in WA.

Can anyone tell me different but I thought Tyson was off the ball playing a defensive role, I didn't see him roll through the middle for any bounce. And we shut down quite a few Hawks players. Burgoyne was exploited tonight, Smith was MIA except for one great cameo that didn't mean anything.

So no change - I have to say VDB disposal gives me nightmares, but his pressure is huge, am feeling very sorry for some of our fringe players right now.

Lets see how Brayshaw goes during the week.... that was looking really bad there for  a few seconds.

And to top it off he had the free kick paid against him for the privilege of almost having his  neck broken and/or copping a career threatening consussion... FMD.

They can have the consolation prize of a VFL premiership - it’s ginna happen.

I think we will go no change but I would subject to how he goes tomorrow I would bring in Joel Smith for Tyson. He wasn't poor but he had limited impact and he is not suited to the outside where he is being forced to play. Fritsch is also better up the ground.

Said something similar straight after the game. His pressure was first class and the reason he is in ahead of Jeffy.

Gotta go a bit taller vs West Coast, so I'd say our only chances are J Smith, or a very outside chance of Pedersen. Still would love to see Vince get back in though.

Why do we need to go taller? Oscar goes to Darling and Frost goes to Kennedy.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
