Its not even 10am and I feel like i'm going to vomit. Imagine how the players feel!!!

You're not the only one...a kid two seats in front of me on the SkyBus had a power-vom into a plastic bag just as we were leaving the airport. I'm not a religious man but I was praying that the bag didn't have any holes in it...

I have been struck down with swine flu (apparently that’s still a thing) so won’t be able to attend my planned event this evening. On the flip side I didn’t have to spend 8 hours pretending to work today.

Hopefully Melbourne’s own swine pig hibberd plays a blinder tonight and we smash them off the park. Not sure my tv will survive another close loss to Geelong, especially if I have to look at Tom Hawkin’s [censored]-eating grin too many times.

If you're not reading The Roar, here is another article

I'm just getting into the website recently, and it's an enjoyable informed read.

Here's a preview of tonight

Beat my best friend swimming today. Made a bet though, if we win he will buy me a string bikini and I’ll wear it our next swim! (Gulp!)

I quite like the Roar! I know it's an obvious thing to say, but it's different haha

Great read, thanks for sharing :-)

I'm LOVING all this press we're getting. It's nice to be relevant again!

Sounds like he wins if we win. Go Dees!

Sounds like you will wear it anyway. We will win just to make sure of it.

Not sure about everyone else, but I'm really relaxed about this. No idea how I will be feeling between 7.50 and 10.30.

Can you please post this again for a bit of fun but in the rational alternative Game Day thread?

Had to take the day off, impossible to work. Have been wearing scarf around all day, its incredible how many people have stopped me in the street to tell me how much they hate the handbagers!!

Me every day this week so far: Let's just enjoy it and see how it goes.

Me today: AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IF WE DON'T WIN THE WORLD WILL END

Sums me up perfectly too!!

I note a number of posters are feeling nervous about the game. I'm not concerned at all - we'll win.

I am however, very nervous about the large crowd and subsequent queues to get booze. The notion of the dees winning and me being unwillingly sober is very uncomfortable indeed.

A hip flask as emergency supply Bbo?

I am more concerned about getting away after the game.

Same!!! Our servers have been down until 10 minutes ago. I was thinking I could do a sneaky and get out early and go drink to calm my nerves. Back on now. Absolute balls!

Absolute balls for sure! Had it have happened now that might have been enough to get out of here!

I'm feeling much the same, on both counts!

The big game getaway is the worst, but it will be infinitely more bearable after our win!!

Off work today looking after sick kids. Honestly, I think I’d prefer to have gone in. The day is passing soul crushingly slow.

You have my sympathy Nasher. Baby sitting the GD's was on tonight but I have a leave pass. The down side is I now have zero credits in the system.

Just got to melb, grab something to eat, what time would be safe to get to the game and get in with a bit of time to spare? Is there any pre game stuff?

I’m that nervous I’m giving myself an ulcer.

I can’t even listen to SEN or read the sports section of the papers anymore coz I’ve had enough of all the talk.

Bloody long two weeks.

Being a Friday night, chances are Carlton is one of the teams in the curtain raiser.

Really liked how much phyaical pressure the team has put on the opposition the last few weeks in particular.  We come out like that from the first bounce tonight and it will go a long way to winning the game.

GIVE THEM HELL DEMONS

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
