I reckon Spargo's been pretty poor for weeks, although not to the horror show-level that we saw vs Sydney.

Obviously Garlett's been off the pace, but I thought he'd been improving since getting back in and agree with you re: Garlett being far more dangerous.

On the rare occasions that Kent has been able to play these past two seasons he has looked very good. He and Melksham should help in linking up from half back to half forward and delivering ball deep in our F50.

I see our main problem being the opposition getting a run on and kicking numerous unanswered goals. I think it is a mental problem and lack of hardness. They look like roos in the headlights, unable to get the ball as they become spectators. We really need to make a determined effort to answer every goal the opposition get and make our own run of unanswered goals. 
Kicking to targets especially if the player has space is better than bombs to packs. Errors will occur but repetition at training can help as well as knowing other players limitations (I think that is one of Hogans problems, he expects the carrier to deliver to him instead working hard to make it easy for the player to feed him).
Freeing the ball movement takes creativity and lowering the eyes.

Good changes.  Play Charlie closer to goal. Looks like we have a chance with this squad.

Dare I say it again....line on the sand moment for this coach and his players.  Everybody except WCE supporters want us to stand up as a club.  The players either want it or don’t!  Sadly the same applied last week and they didn’t want it bad enough.  Can’t see that changing this week, but maybe inclusion of new blood might surprise us.  I wouldn’t spend a cent tipping us.

do you disagree that changing out one quarter of the team with two games to go shows that we are not travelling well.

Fact is this season ended last week if not a few weeks before.

Sorry, from your original post it sounded like you wanted Fritsch dropped, as you'd left him out of your starting bench. Hence my comment.

I agree. Only one I'm not 100% on is Hannan. Has seemed to either kick 2 or go completely missing. Hopefully this is the former

It’s interesting that after a close loss they’ve gone for so many changes, 2 were forced but the rest you can only say the players dropped either didn’t fit the plan they wanted to go for or didn’t meet the standards they wanted to set. 

I still personally feel that Spargo’s selection goes against the standards being set but he gets another shot and he’s had a good first year. 

I’m not confident, maybe it’s the doom and gloom already taking hold, but Melksham and Hibbo make us a better team so there’s that. Kent, Hannan, and Weeds are all players that have had good VFL form and must be hungry for their chance. Time for them to step up that next level.

I suspect it's the difference between a pessimistic view on Monday and an optimistic view on Friday.

Last week, we just were not,  'good - enough' !

 

Let's start to call it, as it is...  warts and all.   So the players here it as well.

Sometimes this club is just  'way-to casual',  about playing footy. 

 

It never seems to hurt our players enough,,,,  until the Fat-Lady has Sung,  Showered,  and Sailed home...   By the time they wake up, the seasons finished.

Like the changes one of the strongest teams we have had all year, no list cloggers in the side. I'm confident in a dees win?

Definitely a bold line-up, but that's what it's about right now. We can't keep doing the same things and expecting different results.

We won't finish the season wondering, and at the very least we'll know a lot more about who should be part of our 2019 premiership side!

Saty, if that were true then it would be hypocrisy. Please show us an example of where a particular poster has been hypocritical to back your "amusing" claim. Your opinion is as important as anyone else on here - just hope its factual.

It’s unfortunate but when the heat went up Garlett defensive pressure was pathetic at times
