Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

How far are we going to go with these meaningless stats?

Melbourne is 8-0 when more than 10,000 hot dogs are consumed, but 1-4 when under 10,000 are consumed.

The last 2 weeks have not concerned you at all Wise?

when the pressure is applied, and i mean Real Pressure, The MFC falls away....

have been doing it for decades.

We are now a mid table club, but until the club learns to smell blood and go in for the kill, regularly, that is as far as we will go.

Our list is still over rated. It still contains lots of potential, but top end leadership is not there.

For all the good work last week, from the 17 minute mark of the 3rd Quarter we failed to score a goal, with 68 inside entries.

That is a massive problem against real pressure.

No.

And you know what?  I don't even think I've got the willingness to dissect it.  I'm burned out.

You're worried, I'm not.  We'll leave it at that.

Whatever....

you will still be harassing the same posters in 10 years time when people get angry and frustrated.

Round 23 last year should have completely galvinized the club to never accept mediocraty.

But the message is still to get through against any decent opposition

Astounding to be honest and the exact reason why we have such a low membership commitment....

Barassi instilled a mantra at North in the 70’s that should be at the MFC....

They refuse to die... we get stage fright

And you'll be harping on and on and on about the same stuff in every thread 10 years from now as well.

You and I regularly sit on opposite sides of the fence (at least we don't sit in the middle like some) and when we discuss/argue it, we just go round in circles.  I won't change your mind, you won't change mine.  So why waste each others time?  I don't want to get in a slanging match with you again to be honest.

I’d argue it’s the other way around Wise.

Jesse looked like he’d eaten 2000 hot dogs on Friday night and couldn’t move.

Surely this says more about the teams we've played and their form, then our stage fright. If a team is up and about, their supporters will come and watch them play. Hence the larger crowd. If a team is performing poorly (Carlton, Saints, Dogs etc), then the crowds are small.

Also, we play well at Etihad which would skew the result, as we would struggle to get 40 000 there. I dont think it's the small crowd that makes us play well there, or the ground?

If the club gets it’s sh!!t together like a real Top 4 side i won’t be banging on about anything

i was saying the same things in 2006 long before you arrived and was told to shut up and be patient.

Well guess what. 12 years later Stage fright is still alive and well and supporters are still going easy on this club, which is the BASE REASON why nothing changes except personel.

I reckon he's injured, just not even attempting to go for marks. Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist who knows but he aint right.

This cant be the same player that we saw in the first 2 months of the year.

So the key to winning games from now on in is to keep the attendance under 40,000.

We might have to hire some stand over men to keep the official attenance officer in check? and keep the figure under 40k even if its 50k or 60k?

I'm not going to a game until we start losing. Gotta keep it under 40k.

You should go to our training sessions SWYL. The players might become more accustomed to dealing with the higher volumes of noise. :)

I can remember when Roos took over and in a period of time he realised how scarred the culture was and  also mentally not tough enough. I am not going to elaborate. However we have come a long way in building good foundations and l am so proud of them now to the way we used to be that we have improved every year since Roos took over as coach.  Now Goodwin  is doing a fine job and I believe we are just around the corner in being successful.

We’re  young and so sitting bout where you’d expect. Personally I think we’re tracking really nicely. Yes we lose to the best sides but we’ve won’t for much longe

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
