Where do you begin with that effort.Half the team need to be dropped.Backline and forward line is a mess.Disposal into forward line continued (bombing high) to small forwards is insane.[censored] over handpassing in wet conditions.

A competitve side like RIchmond are going to "Ëat us alive". They play to support each other all the time, not just when it suits us or the conditions suit.

Out : Melksham . Bugg, ,Harmes

In : Hunt,Maynard , Anybody who is a team player

Melksham finished last year well, looked set for a big year this year, but has been hovering between average and woeful so far.

Put Lever on Rance and make him learn to be accountable. At the moment our Defence is leaking like a sieve with people unsure of their role especially Hibberd who cannot run the lines because Lever is not accountable ... a permanent spare man in Defence.

Oscar and Jetta are the only two defenders who are fully aware of their roles

There was only an effective 160 points difference in results this weekend between us.

That's all.........? .....  ?

I agree, but sadly I don't think the FD will be brave enough to drop Lewis, but it would send the right sort of message Goodwin wants the players to bring in terms of non-negotiables.

They are the obvious ones. Whether to go with Tyson, Hannan maybe even Spargo or Baker and really shake the team up is worth considering.

Hannan for Bugg, Hunt for Harmes, Balic for Melksham if he's not injured. Would even consider Charlie Spargo for Bugg also (may be a bit soon)

He is running out of places to hide him. The hint for me today was him sitting on a forward flank. He just cant get to or away from the contest anymore.I would expect its highly likely.

Agree with your comments.  Lever was Brave today.  There were a handful of players who continually put their head over the ball and their bodies on the line and he was one of them.

Frost has a lot of attributes, but football smarts aren't one of them.  Can be depended upon to give away multiple free kicks every match by doing dumb s***.

    HIGHLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Melbourne traveled across the continent to take on the Fremantle Dockers in sweltering conditions at Mandurah south of Perth in a game that delivered the club both its highlight and its lowlight in the first minute.  But first, let’s start by doing away with the usual cliches used in connection with the game. It was just a practice match and the result didn’t matter. Bad kicking is bad football. The game was played in severe heat, the swirly breeze played havoc with both teams resulting in

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
